In the first story each author uses examples of people affected by the disaster. So the reader can feel like he or she is actually there. The story of an eyewitness the author talks about many people and how they lost everything. People of wealth or not lost everything so it so it didn't matter who you were because the great conflagration. All the people were the same even your race didn't matter because they lost everything too.

In contrast to the story, Letter of New Orleans focuses on only a couple of people were affected by the flood. Lionel Petrie didn't want to leave his home until his family came back but he had to be rescued also he had to leave his dog behind. This actually creates an emotional attachment and it draws the reader in. Lionel Petrie talks about his family who evacuated especially his wife and he misses her a lot because he even said " I think the good lord sent you to me and I'am looking forward to seeing my wife. Because of this we can see what Lionel is like this is because the author describes and shows how caring he is. Finally the author has showed two different kinds of scopes and how these two disasters has affected many people.

The two others show us how the people were effected by the disaster one story shows it throw a narrow scope and the other show it throw a wide scope. In the story of eyewitness the author talk about many people. The firer destroyed every thing it dint matter if you were poor or rich. The Author show us how they lost every thing through a wide scope. In the story of a letter of New Orleans it focused on two people and how they had to leave there family and one guy left his family so he could try to save there dog and when the family reunited it was the best thing that could have happened and it was kinda of a emotional story to draw the reader in. The authors us two differences between the scopes It make us feel bad about what happened but it is to inform us about these two events
