Good day! I am one of the volunteers in the brigada pagbasa. Sean willo was my student. He is good at reading in English but he is a bit difficult in Filipino. That's why I immediately focused on him reading Tagalog. To my great delight in the child, I added to the presentation of his literature such as short stories, tongue twister, riddles, history, etc. Thus developed the child's critical thinking. He wonders what the answer is to the activities I present to her. I really enjoyed and I was happy to be close to the end of the brigada pagbasa because I noticed that he was speeding up in reading Tagalog. I am happy because I can see the willingness and excitement of sean willo in our reading.

First things first, this opportunity was a big help for me to enhance my skills and knowledge when it comes in teaching. The experience that I would like to share is how enjoyable teaching are. Luckily, my student was good in reading. So that, our reading session was dismissed early. Since, we dismissed early the thing that I did was I told her that she is smart, I told her that she is nice and everytime she read the word correctly, I still compliment her. If my student learned from me, I also learned a lot to her such as be patient, be good to student, be gentle no pressure and guide them. Because, As a teacher, student should
feel that they have a teacher that willing to teach them. I know it is hard to teach the students especially we are now online class, but I always look at the bright side of this new learning. As long as we teach the student and they learn. I will never stop to teach them. 💖

Because through online reading, there are times I can’t understand the child’s pronunciation of the word he/she is reading due to bad connection but I am still happy because I can help improve a child’s literacy especially in reading and comprehension of what is being read. My experience as a brigada pagbasa volunteer is that I feel grateful and thankful to be part of this event or program because it gives me the opportunity to teach students and help the students to improve their learning, reading and thinking skills.I gain a lot of new experiences in doing the brigada pagbasa.I experienced and learned to handle student time and learning capacity in teaching in online class and also I learn to be more efficient and patient in teaching because sometimes there are words that hard for the student to pronounced. My experience in Volunteering was at first I was so nervous at the first day, but at time goes by nasanay na po ako. Good day teachers and fellow future teachers!
I just want to commend us all for a job well done!

For a short period of time, we were able to experience such an oppurtunity to teach and inspire young children as one of our main reason why we're studying Bachelor in Elementary Education.

This brigada served as a milestone for each and everyone whose main goal is to impart knowledge that the future generation may hold as they grow up.

Being one of the volunteers in this program became a brigde of connection between us and those chosen students. Yes, we are having such difficult time but this program proved that the pandemic isn't a hindrance towards quality education.

I am honored to have this oppurtunity and wishing all of us a goodluck!

I am Janine A. Munda, one of the volunteers for Brigada Pagbasa 2021. It has been a very good start for me to experience such a wonderful practice we have for almost 1 month of teaching reading. I am soon to graduate for the degree Bachelor in Elementary Education and this kind of platform help me to somehow conquer my infirmity. As an ESVES volunteer from Taguig City University, I had a mixed emotion from all the experiences I've learned on it. This program was a big opportunity for me to handle and show my capabilities in teaching. I've gained a lot of experiences that hone my teaching skills by the help of online pabasa to accept us in guiding the students especially my student which is KJ. It may have a lot of circumstances in my teaching journey still it doesn't lead to us to hinder the value of education. I am Junilyn Angel B. Almiñe. Being one of the chosen volunteer in ESVES Brigada Pagbasa 2021 is a great pleasure and a wonderful experience that i would cherish forever and wouldn't be forgotten.

My experience with my assigned pupil for three weeks reading session is challenging yet enjoyable. In our first day, i have a hard time to reach out my pupil because she's not be cooperative even her mother. All the time ako lage nag a adjust kung ano available time nya. Pero kahit na ganoon it fades aways because at the end of our reading session lage nya akong sinasabihan ng " i love you', it really melts my heart though. Her sweet personality make me felt relieved. Everytime na pinapabasa ko sya, i list
all the words that she find difficult to read. Then those words na hirap nyang basahin, pinapa review ko iyon before we proceed to the next story/passage. Then as time went on pa unti ng pa unti iyong mga words na hirap nyang basahin. But overall she's a fast reader but there are some few words that she find difficult to read with and her accent not that much accurate.
Thank you for this oppurtunity that will serve as my first stepping stone to be a good future educator. This journey made me realized that being a teacher is not that an easy job. It takes hard work, courage, dedication, compassion and full time commitment. And also from this experience i felt so much joy for helping a child to read that made a big impact of her life.

Being a volunteer in Brigada Pagbasa at Em's Signal Village Elementary School is one my achievement, the fact that I became part of this great program is already a big opportunity for me. About my experienced as one of the volunteer of Brigada Pagbasa in teaching student to read English and Filipino was not so easy specifically in English subject wherein I need to teach the student by syllables and how to pronounce it properly.

Considering some struggles that my student are facing during the Pagbasa wherein she gets easily destructed and feel bored. Consequently, I am still grateful because during our reading session, my student's brother always sit beside her to always remind that my student need to focus on our reading session. However, since we are in a field of teaching , it gives me satisfaction that I already experienced to handle student not just in terms of their ability to read but also their behavior. Besides with that, it gives me opportunity to think what would be the best strategies should I use to catch my student attention.

Good Day! I am Jem Kerstein V. Taladhay, a BEED student from Taguig City University. I am very honored to be a part in the volunteering team of the ESVES Brigada Pagbasa.

The picture that I attached is from the last reading session that we had with Rommel. I learned a lot from him and it makes me reflect on how I look like when I'll become a teacher. I am lucky to experience and be a part of this project before I graduate. This is a very memorable one and a little bit sad because of the short time that had.

I'll definitely treasure this experience as one of the best experiences I had in my journey as a future educator. I just hope that he also learned something from me ^_^

Mabuhay! I'm Rizza Agustin one of the grateful volunteer of ESVES Brigada Pagbasa 2021. At first, I don't want to join the Brigada Pagbasa because I have no idea on this one and I'm also afraid I might not help the student.
But then, it's good that I joined because I'm able to know and experience what it feels like to be a teacher specially on this time of pandemic. The student that was assigned to me still needs to be focused on. But in the very short period of time, I am able to teach and guide the student and I can say that there is also improvement.

Thank you for giving us this kind of opportunity, it's a great start for us in our teaching career in the future.

Hello!!! I'm Jeca G. Putian, a volunteer on ESVES Brigada pabasa program. This program helps me to experience how to handle a student on online class, through this I can imagine what is the possible situation I will encounter during my practice teaching next school year. This program helps me to build my confidence to teach and build a good relationship with my student during online meetings. Hi! I’m Stephanie Marie S. Cachola a volunteer in the Brigada Pabasa. I can say that the experience is a roller coaster ride. I felt lots of emotions during teaching my student. I guess it’s safe to say this is one of the most memorable experience I ever had since I started college. I will truly treasure this journey that I had with Arow. This opportunity to be one of the volunteers of this Brigada Pabasa 2021 is a nice and good experience to treasure because I helped a grade 4 student who's kinda familliar about words but cannot really pronounce it correctly. As a working student this pabasa is not really a pabigat to me because everytime I teach this boy I really enjoyed it and I also have a break to a stressful office paper works 😅 And it really help me to gain more knowledge or strategy how to teach a grade 4 student by just observing him. At first I was kinda hesitant to join this Brigada Pagbasa because I have work, I do have negative thoughts that I will not teach the student well but when my classmates/friends talked to me it really help me to decide na I will join the pabasa. Its a great experience guys, kaya try and join na ♥️

Good day, Everyone! I am Daisy Sibanta, one of the volunteers for the Brigada Pagbasa 2021 of EM's Signal Village Elementary School. I have been a High School Teacher for 3 years also in Taguig. I graduated Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English. I am partaking my graduate studies in Polytechnic University of the Philippines. Speaking of the program, I am very happy that I was able to share my knowledge and experience in teaching students especially my major. It is not really a first time but I enjoyed the additional experience teaching younger students this time. I am hoping that with the time spent in reading program and all the efforts both the student and the volunteer would somehow come up with a good result and I would be able to do some help on the student's reading opportunity which would be very helpful in the future of course. There are realizations I have come up with upon the program, while we were reading, and I realize there are still a lot of students that may have experience difficulty in reading and sometimes it could be a real challenge to them. It is somehow hopeful that we have teachers that would help us and volunteers that would give their time and effort to help the youngsters. I am happy that I was part of those people that are able to help these kids. I was once helped by my Elementary Teacher and for her, I am very grateful that who I am today has grown and has been able to teach students as well. So, for me, these opportunities are a gift that I am always welcome to take especially that there is someone I can help with!

Kudos to the management for whom had initiated the movement and program for these students. I hope that both ends exert effort from school to hope to actually help the students be better readers and be able to help each other also in the future. Thank you and God bless us volunteers as well!

Teaching remains constant though the years. No matter what the subject is, it became a never ending cycle where one can acquire knowledge and pass it to the generations to come.

"With great power comes with great responsibility" the quote was from Spiderman. But if we will innovate it, one can say that; With a great doctor, policeman, soldier, engineer, lawyer, and etc., comes with a great teacher.

Teaching was never the profession that I saw myself that will be doing in the next few years, but here I am falling in love with it. Volunteering in Brigada Pabasa, was an abrupt decision that I made, but it sure was worth it. As I began to conduct the reading session with my student, it became a step by step process and my student's progress brings joy to me. As I watch my student progress with her reading, it was an achievement that both me as a teacher and her as student was able to pull through. It was hard, but perseverance was the key. I would like to thank the people who are behind this event, especially to ESVES for allowing me and my fellow future teachers and teachers, have this kind of opportunity. It was an experience that I will hold dearly in my heart.
