    •Do all of your paragraphs have one main topic?
    •Do your paragraphs include a topic sentence?
    •What discourse marker, topic phrase and controlling idea did you use in your topic sentence?
    •Do the other sentences support your controlling idea?
    •Did you include evidence, examples, data, citations, etc. in your supporting sentences?
    •Is there a concluding sentence?  (not always necessary)


    Rewrite any paragraphs so they follow this structure.
