this book is about Ivan, a gorilla, who is being used for a show or circus. He would make it on the big billboard for he was known as “mighty silverback”. 
He lived in an enclosed big area in the circus building, with his other friends, and his buddy, Stella the elephant. A few months later, there was a new baby elephant, Ruby. After the night Ruby came, Stella died, as she was old and suffering from a sickness. Then every night after, Ivan would tell Ruby about his experiences in the jungle when he was still a baby silverback. He was separated from his family when a few people came to hunt animals down, as they went in different directions. Now there he is, in the circus. Everyday, a girl, Julia, would come by everyday to draw him pictures. Soon, for Ivan’s birthday, Julia gave Ivan a set of crayons and paint. Julia said, if you want it, you draw it, you may get it.
