I was a top player in college at Stanford University. I was chosen to play for the USA Olympic Softball Team. USA won silver and gold while I was on the team. I played in the NPF for the Arizona Heat. I then left the NPF after I came back from having my first child Caleb. I then became a color analyst and reporter for ESPN and ESPNU. Now i am president of the Womens Sports Foundation and a member of the National Education Association. I travel to poorer countries to visit small villages and towns and visit the people who live there and give back to them.

If someone lost their job and they were homeless and starving and you gave them food or donated to a food bank then you would be a hero. But its not just if you save some ones life. You could do something simple like carry in groceries for a neighbor. You are helping them out of the kindness of your heart. A hero doesn't ask for a reward or gift. They dont want to recieve, they want to give. Billy Jean King is one of my heroes. She fought for womens' equality in sports. She wanted to give other women the voice they didnt have. They couldn't stand up for themselves so she stood up for them.

I have a whole new responsibility. Before it was just me and my husband. We didn't have any one to take care of but ourselves. Now with our son we are more giving and caring. Plus we have more fun. we get to take him on vacations and play. We get to see his face light up when we show him his brand new car on Christmas day. He has definitley changed my life.
