Agriculture was not terrible. Agriculture paved the way for so many new inventions, cities, and schools. In paleolithic times they were always moving and they never settled down. They never had towns or cities because as soon as the food supply ran out they had to pick up and move. Also obesity didn't come until later with all the processed food. The amount of food produced with farming was things like vegetables and allowed for less people to go starving. They could also stockpile the food for later in the winter when there wasn't much to eat which couldn't be done before because there wasn't enough to save.
