The article's purpose is to clarify how anthropogenic climate change is the main contributor to climate change, and the effects on the environment it is causing. The intended audience is the general public, and it uses logos as its rhetorical appeal. It is effective due to successful in underscoring the urgency of the crisis through factual data and expert opinions. The source is valuable in clarifying and defining the complexities of climate change, including the causes, effects, and global responses. However, it has some potential biases, particularly in describing climate change skeptics as "climate deniers," which could deter some readers or reduce credibility among those skeptical of mainstream views. Overall, the article is relevant to the topic of climate change, offering a useful and informative overview while emphasizing the importance of human responsibility in addressing the crisis. It is effective in making the case for urgent action but might not be as persuasive to those with opposing viewpoints due to its rhetorical framing.

This article's purpose is to summarize the scientific evidence supporting climate change, the consequences of global warming, and the political and societal responses to the issue. It also highlights the role of major industrialized nations in contributing to greenhouse gas emissions and the impact this has on developing countries. The intended audience is the general public, but mostly those who want to help impact it and combat it. The rhetorical appeals used in this article are logos and ethos, since it references the IPCC. It also uses pathos by addressing the consequences of climate change on vulnerable populations, especially in developing nations, and highlighting global political tensions, particularly around the US's stance on the Paris Agreement. The article is useful for clarifying and defining the distinction between global warming and climate change and explains how human activities contribute to the problem. However, there is a bias, particularly in the portrayal of former US President Donald Trump’s contradictory statements on climate change and the criticism of the US’s withdrawal from the Paris Agreement. Overall, this source is useful to my topic due to the different viewpoints and it helps understand the global dynamics of climate change.

3. "David Cameron: Man-made climate change is one of the 'greatest' threats to UK; The Prime Minister says that man-made climate change poses one of the 'greatest risks' to the UK and the rest of the world but risks a split with his own Cabinet and Tory MPs." Telegraph Online, 26 Feb. 2014.

The purpose of this article is to show the UK prime minister and government's stand on climate change. The summary of this article is to show the political division in the UK government over man-made climate change, with Prime Minister David Cameron declaring it a major threat, while some Cabinet members, like Environment Secretary Owen Paterson, question its human origins. The article highlights the internal conflict within the Conservative Party, as Cameron supports environmental policies while facing resistance from key figures. The intended audience includes UK citizens and policymakers. The article appeals to ethos and logos through quotes and references to government initiatives. The article does help to clarify the political challenges of addressing climate change, but it's main focus is on conflict over policy specifics and it can limit its usefulness for detailed research. In addition, there is bias due to its portrayal of climate change skeptics. Overall, I would not use this as a main source for my topic, but possibly as an argument for the topic.

The theme of this article is the impact of climate change on Hollywood films, highlighting how disaster movies have evolved from alien invasions to narratives about environmental collapse. The article focuses on films like The Day After Tomorrow, WALL-E, Mad Max: Fury Road, and other movies that incorporate climate change as a central theme, and how these films resonate with the growing public concern about global warming. The intended audience once again is aimed at the general public, but specifically those who would be interested in how films showcase climate change to raise awareness about the issues it causes. The rhetorical appeals used are ethos and pathos and are shown by referencing the credibility of filmmakers like Roland Emmerich and George Miller, and ellicits the emotional weight of climate grief and fear. It was effective because it raised awareness about climate change. But, its emphasis on the dramatic and sometimes unrealistic portrayals of climate disasters may not fully reflect the complexities of the issue. There unfortunately is a potential bias in the article; specifically, in how it portrays climate change and its relationship with Hollywood films. Overall, this article would be useful to my topic, due to the overwhelming amount of evidence and reference material it uses. It's rhetorical appeals are useful for helping my claim as well.
