. Again there should be a matching colour scheme for this sections as well as it makes the magazine look so much more professional.

. the title should almost always be the band or the singers name as that's what the reader will be looking for.

. The main picture should be situated on the left hand side of the page and take up all the space.

. The article has little text and is mostly occupied by the main image.

. A pull quote should be used to get readers who usually wouldn't be interested wanting to know what its about.

. Big letter at the start of the text to notify the reader where the text actually starts so the reader doesn't start at the wrong point by an accident.

. Font that matches the target market so the reader wants to read the article or review.

Have I challenged the conventions of a magazine front cover?

. I have clearly shown that I have a good quality picture that shows subjects face

. I have used a short snappy masthead "Tune". I believe it stands out from competitors as it looks unique compared to other music magazines.

. I have used the headline "Justin Ross" as he is supposedly a massive worldwide R&B star so many of the readers will know this name and it will attract them to reading it.

. As you can see throughout all my work. I have used the same black, white and yellow colour scheme and I believe it is very professional and looks really good. I used this as black and white always look good together and yellow is to grab the readers attention.

. I have used names as cover lines as the names is what gets the readers attention. I would class big names as short interesting cover lines as if its an artist readers like, they will be interested straight away.

. I have used the cover line "I'm back and ready" as it tells the reader that he is coming back and makes them want to know more. this will make them buy the product.

.Pugg also grabs attention as it allows readers to win a competition which always gets buyers.

.My main font is Impact, I have used this font as it is modern and appeals to my audience.

.All the cover lines and pull quotes are teasing content. Gets the reader wanting to know more.

Have I Challenged The Conventions Of A Magazine Contents Page?

. I have used a matching colour scheme as I explained above. Its important to use a colour scheme as it makes my work look a lot more professional.

. My picture on my contents page is of a very good quality. Both subjects are looking directly at the reader and match my Target Market perfectly. Two young adults with there hoods up in a car park matches the look I was going for. Gives you a hint of what's to come in the magazine.

. This is an example of a convention I have challenged. I've tried to make it a bit different without making it to complicated. I have done this by putting the numbers out of order. To give the contents page a bit of character, something to make it different from other magazines. Its still easily understood but the reader will realise its a bit different and unique.

. My main font on my contents page is again modern and unique and matches my house style nicely.

. I believe this section is crucial in any magazine contents page. Its the section that allows people to purchase your magazine on a weekly basis without leaving there house. Subscription is the main source of money for many magazine companies. I have made mine nice and big so it is one of the first things they see on the page.

. I have included an editors note after a lot of thinking. I believe the readers like this section as it lets them see the man behind the words. That is the reason I have included a picture of the editor as well, so readers can see what he looks like.

. As you can see down the right hand side of my contents page. I have a structured column. This is so it is easier on the readers eye and makes the reader happier to read the text where all the information is.

. There is contact information in two sections of my contents page. I believe it is very important as readers feedback is crucial. I have put the contact information in the top and bottom left corners.

. Apart from my title, the sub lines are the biggest text on the page. All the sub lines are names that grab the readers attention. e.g. Eminem, Labrinth and Snoop Dog, all massive R&B stars.

Have I Challenged The Conventions Of A Magazine Double Page Spread

. As I have explained on many occasions throughout this answer, The colour scheme is massively important on all pieces of work, which is why it is again the same for this section of my work as well.

. I haven't challenged this as I believe the headline "Justin Ross" should always be the headline and then the pull quote should say the rest. This will make anyone that even knows of Justin Ross stop and read the article.

. Its said that the picture should always be situated on the left hand page. I tried having the picture on both sides and it fitted on the left a lot better. This means the title is the first thing the reader sees which is what any editor would want. If the title was on the right side, the reader might skip past the double page spread as he/she doesn't see it and wasn't interested.

. I have challenged this convention as I believe the content of the article is just as important as the picture, title and pull quote. If I was to get the reader all excited to read the article and there was only 200 words on there, I don't think the reader will buy the magazine again and word will start to spread that Tune magazine is a poor read.

. I have used two pull quotes. Neither of the quotes are music related. There primary use is to get people wanting to read the article to see what its about. I believe there is a maximum number of pull quotes but there always has to be at least one.

. I eventually decided to use the big letter at the start of the article, as I researched online and many other magazines did the same thing. Im happy I did this as the double page spread looks more structures and professional with the tiniest of changes.

. I have stayed with the house style and used the same fonts as I have throughout. this is so it still matches my modern target market and keeps it looking professional.
