One land base activity that is connected to Inuit Culture, Health and Wellness is hunting. You are travelling on the land, looking for animals to hunt. You are away from technology like phones, internet, television. You have peace and quiet out there, nothing but the sound of the animals and weather. It calms your body, mind and soul.

Colleen

Fishing is a great activity, it helps us move around, uses arm strength and it provides us food, fish is a big thing for the Inuit culture. Fish have a lot of vitamins and minerals. It also helps people get fresh air, vitamin D from being in the sun. I enjoy going fishing with friends, we always have fun and make each other laugh which helps with our wellbeing.

Shalyne

Egg hunting and duck hunting is one of the land based activity. The egg hunting can be for all ages, walking on foot for miles and searching for eggs, exploring the land and nuna, flowers, ponds, and all types of rocks as well, can be good for our bodies, refreshing to the mind and soul. Duck hunting can also be on foot, but the adults would have a rifle to hunt ducks. Can be healthy to eat, some others can’t because of how rich it can be.

Megan
