The Kurdish Genocide went from 1986 to 1989. It was located in Iraq and it was started when Turkey first declared their borders. The Kurdish people wanted their own land and that is when the Iraqi government came in and said no. During the Kurdish Genocide between 50 to 180 thousand were killed. During this the U.S. was launching Space Shuttle Challenger. This ship suddenly exploded after reaching the edge of Earth atmosphere. Also in 1989, it was the first time the Galileo Spacecraft was launched even after the incident in 1986.
