         <description><![CDATA[<div>Peter the rat didn't not come from the straw roof. The rat came form other rats. Rats and all other living organisms have cells in them. Cells can make more cells. the roof is not living because it doesn't have cells. The rat can not come from something that's not a living thing.<br><br>Cells are the smallest unit of life. Meaning you can not see them. There millions of cells in your body. All those little cells make some thing bigger. With that you can make something bigger too. <br><br></div>]]></description>

You could explain the rats by telling him how living things can only come from living things (which are made of cells), not dead ones, and the straw is not alive so it can't make a living thing.<br>2.
