(Hint: Why would Shakespeare emphasize that the King is good in this play?)

This is spoken by Macbeth to himself while he is contemplating if he should kill King Duncan or not. Shakespeare emphasizes that the King is good so that when Macbeth kills him, it is seen as more extreme. It shows that he is hungry enough for power to kill the good, innocent king Shakespeare set up in this play. Power controls Macbeth in that he does anything he needs to do to sustain it.

Today's equivalent of a feudal monarch is the power hungry politician , the cult leader, or the ruthless business tycoon. But the historicist conception of power is different; rather than being a top down affair that originates from a specific place or individual, power comes from all around us , it permeates us, and influences us in many subtle and different ways.
