Der kan være en pointe i forhold til målgruppe og udformning af artiklen; i forhold til ordvalg, syntaks, layout, nyhedskriterier, appelformer mv.. Der kan være pointer vedrørende fravalg og tilvalg  af stof – fx hvad man har valgt fra i forhold til den fagfaglige del og hvorfor? 
Pointer, som er centrale, fordi man ved grundig læsning af sekundærlitteratur jo har fundet ud af, hvad der virker, når man skriver populærvidenskabelige artikler med henblik på at infomere, fange og fastholde sin læser. Det kan også være noget om journalistiske sprogbrug, greb og kneb. 
Ens pointer vil formentlige have en tråd til den dybdegående viden om artikelgenren – herunder den populærvidenskabelige genre fra den sekundærlitteratur, man har tilegnet sig, og som man måske henviser til i metadelen. Eller siger noget om til eksamen.
