The written voice is both informative and optimistic, without being too preach-y. Understanding the architecture of the brain is truly fascinating, especially in regards to learning and the direct relationship between our biology and our actions. It has caused me to reflect on my personal teaching style, lesson plans, and language used in class (which is certainly the point!)

Being aware of how students learn and think fits into the broader cultural shift towards digital education. How can an online interface be structured to best engage students, encourage memory and retention, and help develop critical thinking skills? Having class at night is difficult for anyone, let alone sleepy teenagers, so I am using this class as a test run to adjust lesson plans à la NeuroTeach.

It was eye-opening to notice which of my teaching mannerisms ended up on the "Unconscionable List" of what NOT to do. Don't start the class by going over homework!
