Likewise, the princess in “The Frog King” was “afraid of the cold frog” and even called him “nasty” until he became a prince with “beautiful smiling eyes” and took her to his kingdom the next day (Grimm 112). The question is the same: Where is the supposedly “true love”? In fairy tales, the sense of urgency for marriage is greater than love.
