The Eve My Best Friend Died (Livv Ero)

-gurgle
-regret
Sandy paced across the linoleum tile, over and over. She was like a soldier, safely guarding a treasure...except it wasn’t a happy time or a safe one for that matter. She knew he was out there, somewhere, lurking around and keeping the shadows company. The midday dusky sky set the mood for the tragedy that had happened early that morning. It had taken Sandy all day to muster up enough courage to get this far, and ‘this far’ was the distance from her nightstand to her bathroom across the hall. It was hard. Regret filled her, and she couldn't do anything to stop the tragedy from becoming a reality. Sandy stopped pacing, grabbed the round bowl, and flushed her best friend down the toilet...her only thought, as it gurgled down, was to catch the murderer. She knew who it was, the empty plate and glass that once held beloved cookies and milk was all the evidence she needed. It was about to be a cold trip North, and not to Canada.

Miss Christmas

Prompts: Silent, Flames

Short Story

It was Christmas Eve night, no one was awake. The house was completely silent besides the crackling of the fireplace flames. The tree was lit brightly, with every bulb shining its best. Each present was wrapped neatly - red, green, and white wrapping paper covering each package. The children upstairs tried to sleep, but the excitement was too great. And then the noise came: Santa Claus. He was on the roof and he came bearing gifts. They all knew what was coming. Tommy’s new scooter, Julie’s baby doll, Mom’s new rocking chair, and Dad’s hunting supplies. Santa came down the chimney and landed right on their floor. He ate all the cookies and drank all the milk. He left all their presents right by the tree. Then it was time for him to bring the same joy to every other house in the town.

Marshmallow Man
Regret, origami, and marigold
I really enjoy doing origami, so one day during my free time I was doing origami. I was looking up different things I could make online and then I found the perfect one. As I was looking at the instructions on how to do it I realized this was going to be the biggest thing I’d ever made. I was going to attempt to make a giant marigold. I found the paper I wanted to use and I was getting ready to start. I began and it seemed like it was going to be easy and that I would be able to get it done in an hour. As the hours turned into two then into three and four, I realized I had made a mistake and that would be very hard to do. I soon started to regret my decision to make this giant marigold. I regretted spending the entire day trying to make something that I was probably just going to throw away anyways. I then decided that I’m not a quitter. Since I started, I was going to finish no matter how long it took me. I ended up finishing it in about an hour and I was proud that I didn’t give up and I powered through.

Prompts = Yoga, Squirm
Once there was a yoga instructor named Molly. She decided to become a yoga instructor because when she was young she would squirm a lot, especially in class. One day she was teaching a yoga class and an old man came in and had no idea how to do yoga. Molly had no idea how to help the old man so she sent him away. Little did she know that the old man was actually magic. The old man didn’t like how she sent him away so he turned her into yoda. Molly the yoda asked the old man why he chose to turn her into yoda and it was because he said it rhymed, and he couldn’t think of anything else. Molly the yoda lived semi-happily ever after, teaching yoga to mostly star wars fans.

Ana Maruchana Prompt Word: Flames, Squirm, Silent El Magnífico Dragón Gazookz I could hear the creature upstairs fighting for a way out of the room it was trapped in. Following my gut, I headed upstairs. Slowly, I crept into the big, dark room watching my every step, making sure I didn’t make a false move to provoke the vicious beast to attack. The room was silent all around. Then, out of the corner of my eye, I saw the beast get ready to attack. As it leapt out of the shadows, I threw my torch at it and watched the monster squirm as flames engulfed its entire body. I knew what I had to do next, I had to tame the beast. Everyone thought it was impossible, but I knew that I could. I quickly put out the flames and watched as the beast came to me. I had saved him from a horrible fate, I had tamed the great beast of Gazookz and it now followed my commands, it belonged to me.

Prompt words: regret, flames, and silent

As the flame grew bigger and bigger covering the whole house, everyone was silent. They waited and waited for the flame to be put out by the firefighters, but nothing was helping. It just kept growing. Soon, that small fire had consumed a whole neighborhood and was still on the move. No one knew what to do or how to help. The fire was far to big and moving very quickly. People in the neighborhood was grabbing water and putting it on the fire but nothing was working. Everyone was speechless. This neighborhood was completely burned to the ground and now burning right through their city. Everything they loved. Gone. They didn’t think the fire could get so big. The only thing they felt: regret.
Santa Clause 52

90 and 10; Maratfe; regret

90 and 10

Maratfe

Regret

Standing in the middle of the street with a hole in her car and on the phone with the police to address the situation. The young girl, Maratfe, was just hit by a white truck that had pulled into an intersection and after a sudden feeling of regret, the young boy in the white truck reversed right into the Maratfe’s car. There was no time to do anything, and everyone was in shock that this young boy started reversing. Maratfe told the boy to pull off to the side of the road to see the damage that has been done. They figured out all the police reports, and continued with their day. After a week of no information about the accident, the boy’s insurance calls maratfe and tell her that this was her fault. They start to tell her that she could have done something to prevent it. After fighting for four weeks about whose fault it really was, they compromised with 90% and 10%. Maratfe was paying 10% because she did not honk her horn. This is a very sore subject for Maratfe til this day, and talking about honking a horn with her is not recommended.
