It refers to evaluate action and intention. It is the moment of self-check to give awareness of sins and short comings.

-‘Iffah

It refers to guarding oneself from sinful actions.

-Tawaddu’ (Humility)

Tawaddu’ recognises dependence of Allah by removing pride and arrogance.Sujud is one of the symbol of humility.

* Ṣalāh (Prayer): Instills awareness of Allah and remembrance. It serves as a shield that prohibits immorality, wrongdoing, and disobedience.

* Ṣawm (Fasting): Develops discipline, empathy, and taqwa. It weakens the influence of Satan and encourages believers to recognize Allah’s constant observation.

* Zakāh (Charity): Purifies both wealth and the self by reducing greed and cleansing sins. It provides essential support for the needy.

* Hajj (Pilgrimage): Disciplines the believer to follow divine commandments while abstaining from disputes and indecent acts. It emphasizes that the best provision for a believer is the fear of Allah.

Defining Ḥikmah

* Definition: It is the ability to discern the true nature of things and act accordingly.

* Status in Islam: It is considered the "lost property of the believer," to be claimed wherever it is found.

* Educational Role: Using ḥikmah pedagogy improves higher-order thinking and helps students internalize Islamic values.

The Three Pillars of Acquisition

* Niyyah (Intention): The motive behind any act must be to draw closer to Allah. Valid niyyah requires sincerity, clarity, and consistency.

* Amal (Action): This involves performing consistent good deeds and worship, such as Salah and Zakat. The intention behind the deed is as vital as the act itself.

* Ihsan (Excellence): Defined as worshipping Allah as if you see Him. It involves internalizing virtues like humility and patience through a cycle of awareness, action, and reflection.

Summary: One acquires ḥikmah by engaging in worship (ʿibādah) with the right mindset, cultivating inner qualities like humility and devotion to understand the religion deeply.
