         <description><![CDATA[<div>This is my favorite quote from Self-Reliance.  Many in our society today seem to feel that they need to be hard-headed and stubborn when it comes to their beliefs. They resist opening their minds to other points of view, i.e. politicians and those on the right and left (conservatives and liberals).  If a person hears a good argument or arguments from "the other side," he or she should be okay with changing his/her perspective on the topic/issue and not feel that it's a sign of weakness or failure.  Society would solve a heck of a lot more problems if we weren't so blindly one-sided so much.</div>]]></description>
