Ponyboy is an introvert 14 years old boy. He has 2 brothers (Sodapop and Darry). He has green eyes and long hair. He is really intelligent and really likes to read books. 
Sodapop is a sixteen-going-on-seventeen boy. He is always happy. He will never grow up. 
Darry is the oldest brother of the family. He is taking care of his brother. He is harsh and always need to have control over the situation. He is 20 years old. He works really hard. He doesn’t read books.

2. The Socs are the rich kids in that city and they lived in the east side. They are mean to the greasers. The greasers are the “poor” kids and lived in the west side. The often get beaten up by the Socs. The greasers usually hang out in gang. The like equal fight. 

3. Ponyboy have been attacked by a gang of socs on his way back from the movie theatre. They have beaten him really hard. There was 5 rich kids attacking him for no specific reason. Fortunately, his brothers heard him screaming and went out to help him. He was so badly injured that he couldn’t get up. 

4. Dally’s approach was not the better way to approach the two girls. He was a little mean to them and a little invading.It looked like he wanted to impress them. Ponyboy’s approach was more kind and calm. Also, he had just protect the girls from Dally, they looked grateful. The girls reacted hardly at Dally’s approach because he looked like he wanted to challenge them which they didn’t appreciated. They liked the way that Ponyboy approach them beacause he seemed honest and not mean at all. 

5. His relationship with Sodapop is better than the one he has with Darry. Sodapop and Ponyboy seem to have more in common. The also seem to get along together. Darry seems to be a rough guy and i think it affects their relationship. Darry also act like a father for Ponyboy which make their relationship different from the friendly one he has with 
Sodapop.

6. Johnny is always with the gang because he doesn’t have anything else. His family treats him badly and he doesn’t have any friends except for the gang. The gang feel like a real family to him. 

7. Their boyfriend had brought alcohol and the girls didn’t approve. 3: he was alone ont he street when 5 guys from the socs attacked him trying to cut his hairs. It was getting dangerous, but his brothers and friends were there to help him. He got some bruises

4: Dally was really mean and he was messing up with them saying bad things. He wanted to provoke these girls but it didn’t work.  Sherry answer him like a queen .On the contrary, Pony were sweet and was kind. He was there to protect them with Johnny. Because of his approach, sherry said some flirty things to him and that had a great talk.

5: Darry is pretty hard on ponyboy, beacause he is really intelligent and he wants him to have a better life from his. He wants him to use his head and have great grades. With sodapop, he his always comprehensive and fun and he doesn’t really care about anything. He pus less pression on him.

6: He thinks the gang is his family because his father is always beating him up and his mother dosen’t care about him. The gang is always there to protect him and encourage him. 

7: they were with their boyfriends, but they had alcohol and drugs and they didn’t want to watch them getting drunk. He was alone and the socs came in a group to harasss him verbally by talking about is hair and afterwards hitting him and someone even treatened him with a knife. The socs were blocking poney boy to escape and were hitting him. By luck, darry was close and defend his little brother and the socs ram away


Question 4
Dally had an approche to girls kind of not a good way. Like a douchebag
He tried to show all is qualities and tried to make the girls go crazy for him.

Poney boy was not the same and respected them more then dally


Cherry liked more poney boy because of that



Question 5

Poney boy thinks darry is more rude to him and is a lot on his back always complaining he should use more is head

He thinks soda pop is loved by darry and they laughted together, not the case with pony boy and that vexes him 




Question 6

It’s one of the only place where he feels safer because at home, his dad is violent with him and hurts Jonny so he wants to stay with the gang where he know it’s their friends . He feels more loved then at home so likes it better

They went with their lovers but they made them leave when they discovered they had alcool (booze)  cherry and Martia where scared of getting caught and didn’t want to drink so went someplace else on their own

Sodapop is handsome and Darry is hard on ponyboy because he doesn’t use his brain often enough. They have friends  (johnny, dally, two-bit, steve)

Question 2: The greasers are from the east side. They are considered to be poor and violent. The socs are often rich kids who bully the greasers for no reason. The greasers are courageous and always fight, they like equal fight, they party a lot. The socs have a better reputation.

Question 3: Ponyboy got jumped by socs while walking back home from the cinema, they followed him in a blue mustang. They waited for him to be scared, they were five against one. They circled him and tried to cut his hair off with a knife. He tried to fight back but they were stronger. He got saved by his brother and friends.

Question 4: Dally talked to the girls like a douchebag and he acted all tough in front of them, he tried to impress them by saying really dirty and weird stuff. Ponyboy defended them and treated them good. Cherry was more receptive to ponyboy's approch because che felt like she could talk to him seriously. With Dally she probably felt like he was only trying to act cool and that he was dumb.

Question 5: Ponyboy feels like Darry likes sodapop more because he is less hard on him. He let sodapop quit school and do irresponsible things. Darry is hard on ponyboy. He always wants him to do more than what he can. (Grades). Sodapop makes fun of Darry sometimes and he is the only one who doesn’t get whooped.

Question 6: Johnny was abused by his father as a child, the gang was always there for him in those times. He is the puppy of the group. The gang are his protectors and mentors. They defend his and take care of him. He has a strong bond with them. ( ever since he got attacked by the socs, they treat him like a baby)

Question 7: They went with their boyfriendd but they made them leave when they found out they had booze. 6- they went to see Dally because he is the one that knows the most about “murders” and how to get away with it. He is also the one that have the most contacts. He also has a guns and money. They also think that he is the only one they can count on because he will not say anything to anyone event if he could go to prison. He is also the one that looks the most terrifying. He is also respected.

7- I think they could have done something different because killing someone is first, really mean and second, they got into a lot of trouble. Bob was a pretty I fluent person in the Socs gang so when he died a kind of “war” started between both gang. Dally could get into a lot of trouble too, because they help them escape and they provide them. 5: Darry hit pony because he came back home late. He then runs away with Johnny to a park. They get trapped by socs amd they start to drown ponyboy a fountain. Johnny freaks out and he stabs a soc to scare them. He kills bob.

6. After killing bob, they both realize they have to leave the city and hide from the authorities. They go to Dally for help because they know he has been trough this before and because he can provide them with a hiding place, money and a gun. He is the most adequate person to help them get away with murder and they know he won’t snitch them out to Darry.

7. I personally think Bob did bunch of horrible things in his life but I also believe he didn’t deserve to die from it. Johnny attacked him only to save pony from getting drowned and I think that it was pure self defense. 5. He was late coming at home so Darry was scared for him. He was hit by Darry when he came home from the field. He didn’t want to stay there so he went to see Johnny and decided to run away. They went to the park and this is where they have been attacked by a bunch of Socs. One of them (Bob) tried to drown Ponyboy. Johnny stabbed Bob and he died. 

6. They turned to Dally because they felt he was the one that could help them the better. He came up with a good hiding place and plan. He is the one that knows the most about crimes because he did a lot when he was in New York. He is really loyal so even if he was interrogated by a police officer and tell him that he would go to jail, he would never tell where the boys were. 

7. I think i was fair in the way that they tried to kill Ponyboy and Johnny only tried to help his friend. I think that he didn’t wanted to kill Bob just scare him.

5: his brother maked him unintentionally go away because he was mad against pony and slapped in in the face. He was mad because he arrived at the house very late in the night .Pony boy didn’t accept that and because of this, he ran away with Jonhnny to a park were he wanted to stay for the night. The socs came and wanted to jump them
Pony boy boy was being drowned by bob but Jonny protected him by stabbing him and he died 


6: they went to dally because they felt he was the better knowing in these type of things and techniques to not get caught. They knew he was loyal and would help them. And that’s what he did he gave them a good hiding spot and tips to not get turned in prison by cops. Dally is respected.

7: yes because i consider it self defense. Poney boy was getting murdered by bob, in this case, Johnny had no choice but to protect is friend by taking down Bob. 3. Johnny sees Dally has a hero because of his calm and coolness. He identifies a lot with him because of the things he loved before. He respects Dally and knows how hatd it is to recover from aggression. He is a hero to me, helps the younger guys, doesn’t hesitate.

4. I think the poem is about happiness, they want to keep it close to them but eventually it goes away.

5. He cares about him in a different way. He considers Johnny as a little brother.

Because, in his opinion, they were always good people. He thinks that they could have been considered heroes without the kids. They all have a different way of being a hero. 2. After talking with Randy, Pony see that even if he looked like someone that has no emotions or ways of thinking, that he looked like all the Socs did, he was just a normal guy. It was just something he wanted to show people but in fact he is normal. 
3. He wanted to talk to him about all the Bob situation. He explains to him that Bob was a good guy and he didn’t take Bob’s side because he knew that what he did was wrong. But he didn’t take Pony’s side because Bob was his best friend. He said he didn’t want to go to the rumble. I think it is because he was scared of being beaten up. He was a friend of Bob so he would have been an easy target. His talk with Ponyboy cleared that up.
4. Everyone related to Johnny, they all had something in common with him. He was like the glue of the gang, like he could keep them together. He could keep them together because of his way of talking. They all liked him and he liked them all. The gang was like his second family. He could always go to them when it didn’t go well in his family. 
5. She meant that he was different from normal people. He was gathering people, it was like everybody always followed him. He was a good leader. He was like the cool guy, people wanted to be like him.
6. He would like people to stop judging people by their look. You are not always what you look like. He is proud of being a greaser but don’t want to be judge for that. He is more than just that and he would like people to see that. 
7. They think it is the only way to win the gang’s respect. They all have different ways to see it. Some only to it to follow the others, but some take it very personal and want to win for themselves. Pony wasn’t comfortable fighting, he felt like it wasn’t right. 
8. Shepard’s gang was more of a violent and stereotypical gang. But Pony’s is more like a family. It isn’t really a gang. The Shepard’s, while fighting, use a lot of weapons like bottle and knives. But Ponyboy’s gang don’t use weapons, they think it doesn’t make a fair fight.

7-  they all fight for different reasons and each person doesn’t want to fight, but because they are greasers they need to. Ponyboy doesn’t feel right about this. He is always questioning himself about why he does this and does he really want to?

8- Tim’ s gang is more violent. They are friends, not family so if something bad happens they will still continue to do bad things. They don’t fight for the good reasons.

2. Pony realizes that socs are just like greasers, they were bron elsewhere and the have money but deep down they share a lot of the same problems. He is very attentive and he can see through the act of the socs. He knows the also have problems.

3. Randy wanted to talk with pony so he could explain his side of the story. He wanted to prove to pony that Bob was not only a bad gauy. He avenged him a little by telling this to pony. He also wanted tonprevent others from getting hurt even though they were friends with Bob

4.the gang needs Johnny to keep calm and stay together, hes the gkue that keeps them together. Johnny needs them to survive his parents, they are his real family and they keep him safe.

5. I think Cherry either really likes or hates people but with Bob it was in the middle. She related to him in a way but on the other hand, she despised him for beating up greasers. She had affection for him and she was one of the few people who actually considered hima as a human being and not just a tough and rough guy. The had a special connection.

6. He says that because he is tired of being a greaser, he feels like everything he does has to follow his reputation. He has to like fights, alcohol and be rough all over. But i think he wants to be more than that, he wants to have a normal life free of all judgment and expectations.

7. They all fight for different reasons, some of them because they like to, others to follow the movement and some to impress but pony isn’t like that. He feels like everyone knows their place in a fight and he doesn’t understand why he is fighting. Everyone does it but nobody knows why. He doesn’t feel in his element he doesn’t have a reason to like fighting.

8. The greasers are more of a family than the other gang. The greasers are all common friends at the base. They all have a special connection towards each other. But the other gang is more if a club, they don’t care for each other and if one dies its normal. They don’t share the same bond that the greasers have developed over the years. The greasers are also fair and equal, they dont have a leader or orders to give. They stick together because they want to not because the have to.
