This exercise will be a 1 page document which you should upload here.

You need to go find 2 traditional pieces of animation and 2 new , provide links to show where you find examples and give a description of each.

We will now begin a 3 week animation project

 

Brief: 

Create an animation with a 5 second animated title at beginning. The main animation should be 10 seconds to 30 seconds depending on your choice of details etc. This is enough to time to create a brief ‘storyline’ of something happening. It is enough time to have more than one scene if you require in your idea if you need. ( this might involve say, a close up of a character’s face to see an expression, it may include a ‘wide’ scene at beginning where we see a whole street for example , then the next ‘shot is an interaction between 2 people in the street and a final ‘scene’ could be for example , a close up of a person’s face ) 

 

The theme is of course  is ‘City’. You should have given some thought to places, people, food etc over the last 6 weeks.

 

No sound is required but you are welcome to add sound if you wish. Text can be used for dialogue if you wish. 

 

 

 

Week 1 :  Plan animation. Write down idea in 1 paragraph. Thumbnail sketche(s) to show basis of idea ( this is a really simple storyboard ) . 

Write down your idea and add ( either digital or on paper ) your sketches showing very roughly what will happens in your idea. 

Create 5 second animation title sequence.

 

Week 2 : Develop your main animation. Decide on number of frames per second. 

If you are using an establishing scene then draw that out . Similar with mid shots or any other shots of ‘scenes’

Week 3  5 Nov 21. Develop your animation

All work should be submitted onto Padlet by Fridays class ( 18 Feb )  when we will review the work. Please write your evaluation report onto Padlet ( details om this to follow )

-       Its all about TONE ( make sure the colour have a range from light to dark ) 

-       Understand Complimentary colour ( opposite colours. They help each other to stand out. Just a little of one on  top of a larger area of another usually works v well ) 

-       Choose a palet of colours before you start ( you don’t need too many )
