         <description><![CDATA[<p>The <strong>International Space Station</strong> (<strong>ISS</strong>) is a large <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_station">space station</a> that was <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assembly_of_the_International_Space_Station">assembled</a> and is maintained in <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Low_Earth_orbit">low Earth orbit</a> by a collaboration of five space agencies and their contractors: <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/NASA">NASA</a> (United States), <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roscosmos">Roscosmos</a> (Russia), <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Space_Agency">ESA</a> (Europe), <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/JAXA">JAXA</a>(Japan), and <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadian_Space_Agency">CSA</a> (Canada). The ISS is the largest space station ever built. Its primary purpose is to perform <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" class="mw-redirect" href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microgravity">microgravity</a> and <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_environment">space environment</a> experiments.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong><em>Sojourner</em></strong> is a robotic <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mars_rover">Mars rover</a> that landed in the <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ares_Vallis">Ares Vallis</a> channel in the <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chryse_Planitia">Chryse Planitia</a> region of the <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxia_Palus_quadrangle">Oxia Palus quadrangle</a> on July 4, 1997. <em>Sojourner</em> was operational on Mars for 92 <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timekeeping_on_Mars#Sols">sols</a> (95 Earth days). It was the first wheeled vehicle to rove on a planet other than Earth and formed part of the <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mars_Pathfinder"><em>Mars Pathfinder</em></a> mission.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Kirobo</strong> is Japan's first <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_robotics">robot</a> astronaut, developed by <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/University_of_Tokyo">University of Tokyo</a> and <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tomotaka_Takahashi">Tomotaka Takahashi</a>, to accompany <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koichi_Wakata">Koichi Wakata</a>, the first Japanese commander of the <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Space_Station">International Space Station</a>. Kirobo arrived on the ISS on August 10, 2013 on <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/JAXA">JAXA</a>'s <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/H-II_Transfer_Vehicle">H-II Transfer Vehicle</a> <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kounotori_4">Kounotori 4</a>, an unmanned resupply spacecraft launched August 4, 2013 from Japan's <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tanegashima_Space_Center">Tanegashima Space Center</a>. A twin to Kirobo, named Mirata, was created with the same characteristics, and stayed on Earth as a backup crew member. The word "kirobo" itself is a portmanteau of <em>kibō</em> (希望), which means "hope" in Japanese, and the word <em>robo</em> (ロボ), used as a generic short word for any robot.</p>]]></description>

It was built and designed for a 6-month on orbit operational lifetime.          <description><![CDATA[<p>The Challenger shuttle was launched on January 28, 1986.</p><p>The goal of launching this shuttle was to launch the 2nd tracking and data relay satellite. On the day it was launched, Florida was hit by a cold wave before it was launched, the icy condition probably is the cause of this disaster that killed all the seven people aboard, the space shuttle exploded in just 73 seconds after the liftoff, at the altitude of 14,000 high.</p><p>I think this is important because it tells us that we have to beware of the conditions of the weather, there are risks of being an astronaut, and that we should not force ourselves to do something that has a high chance of failing when conditions are bad.</p>]]></description>
