Tsunamis are huge waves that can reach a height of 1700ft at their most extreme. They are caused by Earthquakes or underwater explosions. Tsunamis can destroy entire buildings and can cause serious property damage. Many individuals who live in an area hit by a tsunami lose everything they own, which leaves them homeless and without resources after it ends. Some of the tsunami effects include leveling homes down to their foundations and exposing bedrock. The rebuilding process is expensive, time-consuming and hard work for people. The tsunami that struck northern Japan on March 11, 2011, killed at least 14,340 people. Crushed buildings left thousands trapped under debris or pulled out to sea. After a tsunami, contaminated water and food supplies become a risk to people's health. Flood waters can carry many sources of contamination such as dirt or oil. Tsunamis also destroy vegetation such as trees, resulting in landslides and coastlines that slip into the sea as deep root systems that previously held land in place get ripped out. These changes force human inhabitants to rebuild in an entirely different way, redesigning their lifestyles around an altered environment. In the end, tsunamis can destroy many towns and cities, and they are very devastating to humans.

Tsunamis are also called title waves. They are formed by economic plates that rub each other under water to for this massive wave of death. Tsunamis have nothing to do with tides to make these massive waves. The waves that come before the tsunami are called a wave train. The biggest tsunami that ever hit shore was in Alaska that reached a height of 1,720 feet tall. Five people died from the tsunami and three people died on an island in the bay. Two people died when the tsunami hit and sunk their boat. Some people were lucky and survived by riding the wave as if their boat was a surf board. The tsunami was caused by an earthquake that hit Alaska and the tsunami was an after shock. A tsunami can travel like a jet can and go 500 miles at this speed. Tsunami comes from the Japaneses meaning "harbor wave." Some tsunamis can be located in a large lake, but mostly are found in the ocean.

It cause sewer and gas lines to break, and after the earthquake, many tsunamis and landslides occurred. It was caused when the Pacific Plate moved under the North American plate. It even reached so far as it wobbled the Seattle Space Needle. This devastating effect left 323 people overall dead and caused over 300 million dollars in damage.

Earthquakes are when tectonic plates move and hit each other. Then end up shaking the planet. 20,000 homes have been destroyed by earthquakes this year. Over 8,000,000 people have died to earthquakes. The largest earthquake happened at Valdivia, Chile on 22 May 1960 (9.5). According to my research, the smallest earthquake to date is a 3.1 sized earthquake. And finally, The largest aftershock was the size of 7.9.

A volcano is made when hot rock, ash, and gasses go out of an opening in the earth. When they erupt they spill out lava which flows down the volcano. Volcanoes impact humans by destroying their homes and villages and killing their friends family, and themselves. A great example of this impact is with Mount Vesuvius, in Pompeii it erupted in about 79 A.D. . This eruption caused great damage to Pompeii, and killed many people. This eruption is one of the most famous eruptions on the earth. Volcanoes are very deadly and devastating to humans.

President Harry Randall Truman died during the eruption. The eruption was caused because of earthquakes moving platonic plates near the volcano and causing the lava to rise which eventually caused the volcano to erupt. It was at that time declared the most destructive volcano in the United States. The eruption damaged 185 miles of roads and 15 miles of railways. It is referred to as a supervolcano and destroyed over 200 homes. Scientist say that Mount St. Helens is still very likely to erupt.

Many people die in larger earthquakes. The largest earthquake to ever occur on Earth was in Valdivia, Chile in 1960. The magnitude of the Earthquake was 9.5 :(. I would rather not say how many people died because it was a lot and it was very sad. To conclude, earthquakes are very deadly and aren't a joke at all.
