She was the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_female_Nobel_laureates">first woman</a> to win a <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nobel_Prize">Nobel Prize</a>, the first person and the only woman to <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nobel_Prize#Multiple_laureates">win the Nobel Prize twice</a>, and the only person to win the Nobel Prize in two scientific fields. Her husband, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pierre_Curie">Pierre Curie</a>, was a co-winner on her first Nobel Prize, making them the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nobel_Prize#Statistics">first ever married couple</a> to win the Nobel Prize and launching the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nobel_Prize#Family_laureates">Curie family legacy</a> of five Nobel Prizes. At the time her invention was a wooden box with scrubbers and and a manual wheel to turn water in.&nbsp;<br>Josephine Cochrane believed that if you want something done right you better do it yourself.&nbsp;<br>Her legacy and quote is still used to this day.&nbsp;<br><br>Josephine Cochran<br>(She actually was born March 8th, which is something in March)</div>]]></description>

She was among the 15 people chosen from approximately 2,000 applicants. She worked for years as a science mission specialist and, on September 12, 1992, she became the first African-American woman to travel into space.</div>]]></description>

Born in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, in 1918, her intense curiosity and brilliance with numbers vaulted her ahead several grades in school. By 13, she was attending the high school on the campus of historically black West Virginia State College. At 18, she enrolled in the college itself, where she made quick work of the school’s math curriculum and found a mentor in math professor W. W. Schieffelin Claytor, the third African American to earn a PhD in mathematics. She graduated with highest honors in 1937 and took a job teaching at a black public school in Virginia. &nbsp;</div>]]></description>

There is a crater on the moon, Cori crater, which is named in her honor.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Marie Van Brittan Brown's father was born in Massachusetts and her mother was from Pennsylvania. Both were <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/African-American">African-American</a>. Brown and her husband lived at 151-158 &amp; 135th Avenue in <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jamaica,_Queens">Jamaica, Queens</a>, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_(state)">New York</a>.<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marie_Van_Brittan_Brown#cite_note-patent2-4"><sup>[4]</sup></a> She worked as a nurse and her husband was an electrician, so they did not always have normal hours or simultaneously work. Her mother, father and grandmother all had the nickname "Dee Dee". She didn't have any siblings.<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marie_Van_Brittan_Brown#cite_note-Kelly-5"><sup>[5]</sup></a> Marie and Brown had two children.
