One minute, mind you, and then off forever.’” This proves, George and Lydia can’t say no to their children, making them weak, and costing them their own lives. Another example, the text states “we’ve never lifted a hand. They’re insufferable—let’s admit it.” This confirms, the children did whatever they wanted, without even caring what the parents think. Another way to say it—the children are so spoiled that they don’t even care about their parents, just consider them a nuisance.
