You know, for language, there have been some really cool Indie Developers that can create video games about heritages and such and so I bet a game could be made that helps to teach the language while interacting with a background/story that is from the area!

Arts Classes

arts programs are incredible for community relationships, mental health, breaking barriers, learning about the earth, land and more. I have personally seen it happen at the Cooks Ferry Band office!

I would love to see more Cooks Ferry Band art classes that feature the land and its people 🤗

Connecting to the land

living off reserve, I have learnt about my heritage through the love of the land.

I have an obsession with foraging and learning about multiple types of plants, fungus, trees and such while I am outside!

I combine that with my love for art and trying to get every detail I can and it's a happy space for my brain!

Being able to apply what you've seen and putting it into something physical is really powerful!

Expressing through art

3) Helping overcome geographical and economical barriers (zoom opportunities and possibly myself or other arts teachers running acting,singing/drumming workshops on and off reserve for band members )

4) Increasing social connections to help foster community engagement.
