Music is an Art-form that can be recreated and reformed in many different ways by anyone that believes that music can be anything. Music itself, however, is categorised into genres, which allow us to determine different ways of putting sounds and lyrics together to express themselves in a creative and personal way that is engaging for the individual and sometimes others.
Under the Ryan & Healy (2000) table I believe due to my experience with music and my ongoing exposure to all kinds of music, I do come under the category of "Experiencing the Known." I often offer my personal opinions on new music and share my favourite new songs with my friends and vice versa.
My experience with Music as part of the Arts is much more extensive then the other forms of Art. I have been exposed to Music and the elements that are incorporated into proceeding, creating and understanding music since I was 6 years old when I had my first piano lesson During my extensive practical lessons, I began theoretical music lessons which has been the most I have ever learned about music in all my years on being surrounded by family members in bands, being in bands and music groups myself and going to music festivals and concerts since I was 12 years old.
However, I believe the creativity and the landscape behind creating and even listening to music is very intricate. Every individual has their own preferred music genre that they connect to more then others. Some people listen to death metal and others listen to mumble rap. Both very very different genres and very different ways of creating musical expression, but the feelings people get from said music can be the same.
Personally, I like to diversify myself as far is listening and being able to appreciate most music genres, but as I said, everyone has their own preferred music genre and favourite song/artist/band.
I tend to find the same type of feeling when it comes to punk-pop and different types of rap. I have a very strong emotional connection with punk-pop and I tend to play music that originates as punk-pop, where as I tend to vier more towards rap, pop and indie-rock when I'm just casually listening to music.
In saying all this, arguments have been made by people that some music is 'bad' and some is 'good'. I believe that people have their opinions on what they thinks is good and bad, but to say a bad, song, artist or genre is 'bad' or 'not real music' is a personal opinion not a fact.

Visual Arts

Visual Art, or physical art, can be described as are that can seen and created through a hands on process of creating an artwork. The creativity behind all art is always visible but through my understanding, as I am a visual learner, I feel as if being about to physically see the artwork and the creativity and thought that was put into said artwork, is more of a tribute to the artists thought process and creativity. In relation to the Ryan & Healy (2000) table, I believe I come under the 'Conceptualising by theorising' column. This is because I have extensive experience with identity cause and effector of particular materials, techniques and how artists use these in their artworks while also being able to relate artworks and artists ideas back to an underlying meaning or historical ideology. I also come under the column of 'Experiencing the known' which can be explained as describing the aspects of the arts that penetrate everyday lives, share prior knowledge or art forms, techniques and media, offer personal opinions and particular art forms and display artefacts. These are all expanded upon throughout.
I have experienced visual arts through Art subjects during high school and I use drawing as a way of creating visual representations of my emotions.
I am also very interested in tattoo design. Not because I want to become a tattoo designer but I like to see the different works of, essentially, art that people decide to get inked onto their body. The process of either designing or deciding on a predesigned piece of art to be permanently, within reason, placed on ones body is fascinating and whether people design the images themselves or hire someone to do so and what the artwork represents is one of my favourite types of visual arts. I believe this is so because it is, essentially, one of the most personal types of art one could have/own. Myself, I have my brother's birthday tattooed on my forearm in Roman numerals. This is meaningful to me and it is very simple but the process of deciding between numbers or Roman numerals and fonts and the placement of the tattoo and whether it is incorporated into other tattoos and what colour. The whole ordeal is very interesting and I believe that there are people that have tattoos that mean less than others; I, for example, have a botched 'Deathly Hallows' tattoo on my upper left arm from when I was 16 and my friend wanted to test out her tattoo gun. For one, I do love Harry Potter, but it has no sentimental meaning besides the reminder that bad decisions make the best stories, and for me that is enough to not get it removed.
I am also a huge history and geography fanatic and old sculptures and buildings and paintings are one of the main reasons I want to travel. Such things like the The Pergamon Alter (180-160BC) and visiting the Colosseum in Rome, the history and the personality that the architects of works such as these left behind interests me more than water parks and nightclubs. All of these examples have a story and a personal identity that was left behind by the artist. To me, that is how people live forever.

Drama

Obviously, Drama is one of the more experienced of the Arts, whether people recognise it or not, as it is projected through movies, tv shows, plays, home movies, music videos, youtube videos and even pornography.
Drama is not one of my strongest levels of the Arts, stronger than media arts definitely, but still not my strongest. Throughout the Ryan & Healy (2000) table I believe that I sit in the 'Experiencing the New," mostly because drama and acting is always evolving and so are the actors themselves so I don't really believe that its possible to know everything about drama. However, I do love going and seeing theatre performances and movies to expand my knowledge of drama while also enjoying the movies themselves.
I believe society is exposed this this form of Art more then most other forms due to its accessibility and the fact that it can both age and develop with us as human beings. Much like music, it is separated into genres and thus catering for all personality types which makes it a more popular choice when it comes to people engaging in the Arts. Many people would say that Music is more popular, I tend to disagree. Mainly because music, mainly, involves only one of the sense (discounting the places music is related to such as clubs). Although there are music videos and music incorporated into movies to provoke different feelings and project the ideas behind the movie, the drama behind the making of the movie is the base level of the industry. Without actors and the 'drama' aspect of the film industry, movies would be music and scenery and talking.
A good example of true drama would be 'Earth' (1930), a Ukrainian propaganda film directed by Ukrainian director Alexandar Dovzhenko. This film is silent with backing music. The drama that is depicted by the actors in this film (if you discount the music) is what makes you be able to follow the storyline without and vocal cues or expression.
My experience with drama is limited to watching videos, movies, plays and music videos. However, my most treasured memory is when I was in year 6 in primary school, I attended a small school out of town with around 60 students, and I was cast as the lead in the play that years 5-6 would be performing at the end of the school year; "The Pied Piper." This was especially important to me as I have the worst case of performance anxiety and even though I know I am outgoing and, not to toot my own horn, but talented when it comes to acting and singing (this play required someone with a good voice to play the lead), I usually got stage fright. This being said, I performed, not the best anyone could have hoped for, but I did it and pitched perfectly and I felt like I had conquered something huge. This type of experience I think is important for people to understand because I hear a lot of individuals criticising actors on their performance in specific roles and think "how would you know? Do you even realise how hard it is to act in general, not to mention in a box office movie?"
I also believe that drama is a wonderfully expressive and personal form or Art. The overarching expressiveness and 'pull' that drama has for a lot of people, I believe, comes from the idea that you can be and do whatever you want. If you want to be a princess, you can act in a play and be a princess, just to use an example.
The iconic nature of roles and the actors connected to those roles is important to different people in different times. For instance, James Bond is played by many actors over the course of it being remade and modernised. Where some people remember George Lazenby or Rodger Moore or David Niven in the older James Bond movies, I remember Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig, Daniel Craig being the favourite (obviously). They are playing the same role in very similarly told stories but due to the process of time and the development of technology, the drama and acting being these roles has changed and the actors of the past are seen as 'less suited' for those roles due to the modernisation of the movies and the character.

Ultimately, I have had very little exposure to dance as a whole. Dance is one of the more physically expressive forms of Art. Being over the age of 18, I do enjoy the occasional dance at a club, concert or festival, but the aspect of dancing as a profession or hobby has never been a great interest of mine.
Without the interest in participating in dance, watch others dance is greatly entertaining and fascinating. Due to my inexperience with dance and my large amount of performance anxiety, I believe I come under 'Apply appropriately' in the Ryan & Healy (2000) table.
The aspects of the 'Apply appropriately' column in the Ryan & Healy (2000) table that apply to myself are the ability to recognise and produce recognisable art forms, I interpret this as being able to recognise different types of dance whether its in the show or even thought out a movie or on the street, without much indication that the dance form is the one that it is; for example, if a man was in a park practicing ballet, being able to recognise it was ballet without the indications of physical costumes, music or location.
Dancing is one of the more physically dependant art forms as it involves strength, endurance and stamina while also a huge chance of ability and form. I found that whenever I had to dance a choreographed dance (very rarely) it was very hard for me to remember the steps and moves in the dance itself.
I had a friend that learnt and taught ballet for years and years and when she was in high school, she joined the circus. She incorporated her ballet skills into her circus performances and vise versa. This, I believe, is an amazing skill, to be able to incorporate one form or dance into another (for those who believe circus performances classify under dance, which I believe some do). I like to think that her skills in circus classify under a 'dance' category, because just as exotic dancers use poles in their dancing, she uses a tissue for hers while being meters off the ground.
Recently I have been discussing musicals. Musicals incorporate, drama, music and dance all in the one movie environment. One musical I believe was amazing on all levels of the Arts is 'The Greatest Showman'. It's an amazing musical with some extremely good dance numbers. During the movie there are many many songs, accompanied by some very very well choreographed dances. While I don't know a lot about dancing itself, I am captivated by well choreographed and tight knit dances.

Media Arts

When I first heard the term 'media arts' my mind kind of drifted towards the idea or clay-mation and animated films and tv shows while also thinking about filmmaking itself; including, screen writing, directing, casting, the construction of music videos, VR and video games. This Art form, for me, comes under 'Applying appropriately' on the Ryan & Healy (2000) table. This section describes how I can recognise the different art forms while also applying new skills into conversations about media art, video recordings and also game playing.
I, myself, have been playing video games for a long time, mostly on PC and Xbox. My boyfriend and I regularly play Xbox and discuss the upgrades in graphics in new games and the new voiceovers. The new Call of Duty's (such as Infinite Warfare) include voices of some very famous actors (David Hasselhoff voices of the characters in Zombies). I also think that media arts can be put in the category of music video production as well as film production. The reason I think this is because of the extensive lengths people go to the create music videos and in such a short time they have to captivate the audience in approximately 3 minutes which is much harder then captivating an audience in 2 and a half hours.
One very good example of film production that was created through media arts and could not have been created without the media arts, is the Harry Potter series. This movies are based off the J.K Rolling book series and include many fantasy creatures and imaginary ideologies, such as flying on broomsticks and casting spells. Much of the 8 movies could not have been possible to create without the help of green screens and shots edited into the recorded footage after. All of the spells were created through media technology after the scenes had been filmed and spliced in to fit in the movie. The art of being capable to splice things as detailed as spells with precision to make the audience believe that this wizarding world is real, is a talent I will never understand but will forever be fascinated by.
