Ingredients:

1 pound potatoes cut into squares

3 cup milk

4 cinnamon sticks
1 tablespoon cornmeal heated

IN MY NEIGHBOURHOOD

my neighbourhood`s about three kilometers from the city center, but there`s a butcher shop near my house so it's easy to get there not restaurants in my neighborhood but is very beautiful and near my house this the pharmacy and library ,my neighborhood not large or luxurious but it is quiet and the best place to live with very friendly people.

My neighbourhood's about five kilometres from the sport centre. Is very easy to get to my house because I live next to a police office and in fromt of there is a park, but sometimes need a shooping mall and restaurans near of my house. There are a lot of trees in the park where play many childrens, I don't have many friends because it is a neighbourhood boring.

My neighbourhood´s about ten kilometres from the centre of town.
It´s easy for me to get into the centre of the city, but everything I need is in my neighbourhood so I don´t go into the centre very often. It´s near the city zoo and there are some beautiful old homes here so is an interesting part of the city. There are lots of good restaurants in my neighbourhood and my home opposite a really good fast food restaurant and a school. love their food and what is cheap so I eat there often.

My neighbourhood about ten metres from the city centre, but there's a metro bus station near my house so it's easy to get there. there are restaurants and parks in the area so it's nice and quiet. potato soup (Yahuarlocro)
Ingredients

· 10 medium sized potatoes, peeled and chopped into small and large pieces

· 2 tablespoons oil

· 1 white onion, diced

· 2 garlic cloves, minced

· 2 tsp cumin

· 1 tsp achiote poder

· 7 cups of water

· 1 cup of milk or more

· 1 cup grated or crumbled cheese (quesillo, queso fresco, mozzarella or monterey jack)

· 1 bunch of cilantro, leaves only, minced

· Salt to taste

Instructions

1. Prepare a refrito or base for the soup by heating the oil over medium heat in a large soup pot; add the diced onions, minced garlic cloves, cumin, and achiote powder. Cook, stirring frequently, until the onions are tender, about 5 minutes.

2. Add the potatoes to the pot and mix until they are coated with the refrito. Continue cooking for about 5 minutes, stirring a every couple of minutes.

3. Add the water and bring to boil, cook until the potatoes are very tender. Use a potato masher to mash the potatoes in the pot, don’t mash all of them, the consistency of the soup should be creamy with small tender chunks of potatoes.

4. Turn the heat down to low, stir in the milk and let cook for about 5 more minutes. You can add more milk if the soup is too thick.

5. Add salt to taste

6. Add the grated cheese and cilantro, mix well, and remove from the heat.

7. Serve warm with the avocados, scallions, queso or feta cheese and ají hot sauce.

Three Milk Cake

Ingredients

3 eggs
1 cup of sugar

1 teaspoon of vanilla

1 cup of flour

1 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder

1/4 cup fresh milk

1 can (14 oz) condensed milk

1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk

1/2 pint whipping cream

Fruit (strawberries or peaches) or flowers and extra whipping cream for decoration.

Preparation

Fisrt, beat the eggs and sugar in a medium bowl until fluffy, stir in vanilla and beat well until smooth. Sift flour and baking powder three times. Add one third of the dry ingredients into the batter, mix well. Pour in the fresh milk and incorporate the rest of the flour mix. Pour batter into prepared pan.

Second, Bake for 25 minutes or until cake tester inserted into the middle comes out clean. Let it rest for five minutes. Remove cake from pan and pierce surface all around with a fork or toothpick. Blend condensed milk, evaporated milk and whipping cream. Pour half of the milk mixture over the warm cake slowly until absorbed (put the other half of the mixture in the fridge). Finally, let it rest until cool and refrigerate for a day.
