In my opinion, yes, I do firmly believe I am the one who I think I am. This definitely goes beyond just the simple things everyone sees about me and performs together to form an image of me or also the things I say and I make my body/mind react towards them. I believe that everyone has the ability to outperform their bodies to a certain extent and find your true self. Now, don't get me wrong. I don’t believe I already found the true deeper meaning of life but I did partly find who I am, what I like, what I don't. We can relate this to uncertainty. There is an unlimited amount of uncertainty in ourselves, there is always something new you will encounter along your lifetime which in a sense that devotes uncertainty. If I where to relate this to an RLS I would say that the one that best represents the real you (me) would be past summer when I went to visit my brother to Europe. When I was there I was the one who decided what I wanted to eat, what I wanted to do, what I wanted to hear (to a certain extent) therefore I actually discovered new things as well as cut off things I though I enjoyed and did me good but instead did the opposite.

The trip was like a book for me. There was the author (me) and the character (myself too). I had the ability to do what I wanted without anyone telling me what to do, what was right or wrong to do. Here falls the question of: to what extent does our past stay in our present selves?. Well, with experience I can confirm that the best things of your past stay, and you have to let go of the bad ones. It is easy to say yet not accomplish.

To what extent do we know ourselves?

What we know of ourselves often comes back to what we have experienced in the past living years ourselves. The guy I was 10 years ago, has constantly changed throughout the years to who I am today, 18 years from when I was born. This happening creates parts of ourselves to be forgotten, to be transformed in a way that suits the person you are today, the person you want to be in the future.

The concept of changing is something relative to whom it may concern. AS we grow older, as we experience more things, we are constantly changing, as are other individuals. Experiencing not just your change but someone else’s change can be sometimes frightening yet it is the true reality of life. The perception you have on someone can change depending on the situations or events that “someone” has gone through. If you met someone 8 years ago and see them for the first time 8 years later, your perception of them may be the same before meeting him, but most definitely after it will be like a second first impression. The same for ourselves. If someone’s perception of me is not what I think it should be it is to a certain extent the image I am portraying amongs him and possibly others.

If you ask myself if I know who I am I would say yes, I do firmly believe I am the one who I think I am. Relating this to uncertainty, there is an unlimited amount of uncertainty in ourselves, there is always something new you will encounter along your lifetime which in a sense that devotes uncertainty.

When I went to visit my brother in Europe, I was the one who decided what I wanted to eat, what I wanted to do, what I wanted to hear (to a certain extent) therefore I actually discovered new things as well as cut off things I thought I enjoyed and did me good but instead did the opposite. There are also multiple ideas and perspectives of life that this is one of those topics that can’t be argued for someone else but yourself. If I were to think in a more general, universal way, I would say that indeed people can question themselves by asking the same question, Who am I?
