from baking all night,
to the smell of vanilla beans and cinnamon that wafted in the kitchen, 
to the soft glow of the oven's light.

I am from simple family dinners, 
from spicy orange chicken on rice that burns my tongue to thin crusted pizza with cheesy bread sticks that makes my mouth water,
from fun game night beginners to all nighters,
all night til we see the early morning light.

I am from grimy quarters and dirty dollars,
from the aroma of the lavender tide detergent, 
to hearing "Laundry's Ready" from my mom and sprinting to the laundry room.

I am from cross country
 and running my heart out til I can't breathe, 
panting and wheezing, 
from mustering  with my calf pains,
to pushing through the last 200 yards with my knee pains,
 and sprinting with no breathe left.

In the living room, with my family,
playing horseopoly, 
my dad is laughing my mom grinning,
and I can't help but winning,
now we are together 
and our love will last forever.
