The site also shares a variety of different spreadsheets of useful information.

At the moment the united states health care system is very unique by way of not necessarily being a uniform health care act. In 2014 there was a total of around 89 percent of americans having some form of health insurance says the DPE site. As of now the amount of US citizens withholding health care is starting to decline says; Jessica C Smith of the US Census Bureau.
------------------------------------------
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK154484/ - This provided link explains the past of health care and insurance and gives a lot of information on the upcoming of health care in which in my opinion is very interesting.

The United States in comparison to other high income countries are said to be deficiencies to other aspects of the worlds health insurance or care itself. This is said to be because of the United States in comparison to to other countries does not offer universal health care as of 2012.

Syrian Conflict - International

Gio Nakouzi

Syria has been in a non stop civil war for just over 8 years now. This war has had and will continue to have many effects on our current world as a whole. This war has been a huge violation of human rights, which is a big thing considering the U.N is supposed to protect people that have their human rights violated and they are supposed to make sure these violations don't happen. The U.N. not doing anything about this lets other leaders of other countries think that there isn't much enforcement on human rights and could let them think that if it came down to it they could violate some human rights without anyone stopping them. Another big thing is that other countries have been taking in Syrian refugees. Many countries might not be able to support all these refugees but they still take them in because they feel like it is their duty. In very rare cases there could be refugee terrorists. A refugee terrorist is just what it sounds like, a refugee that is actually a terrorist. Now if anything like this were to happen then it would cause great damage to whatever country it happens in. These are only a few ways the Syrian war effects the world as a whole. This article talks about other ways this war is effecting the world. https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/16979186

Gio Nakouzi

A big question people have nowadays is if technology in our schools is having a positive or negative impact on our students. I personally thought that technology would have a positive impact on students in that it makes things more organized and allows us to have a more broad range of activities that we can do. Since we would have the whole internet available to us I feel that it gives us more options in what were studying. However, the article I read says different. In the article I read it said that students who hand write notes as opposed to typing them do better on tests. It also said that students who used technology get worse grades than students who don't. There was an experiment performed where they gave one third of the class tablets and one third laptops and the remaining one third no technology. The results showed that the students who didn't use technology had significantly better scores than those who did. Something that was interesting to me in this article was that it said that social media use through technology helps students learn better. It said that social media platforms enable many engaging classroom activities where learners can interact and share ideas. I agree with this very much actually. Sometimes when I have a group of friends that are all in the same class we make a groupchat where we can all talk about class and study together and it actually helps a lot and gets us more interested in participating in class. Those were a few points from the article but here is the link to the full one: https://www.educationworld.com/a_news/technology-good-or-bad-student-learning-conflicting-studies-make-it-hard-tell-2078994689
