The building of the fish salting factories was built in the 1st century AD and at the end of the century underwent remodeling works that increased the number of existing tanks. It was in these tanks that the fish, especially sardines and mackerel, macerated in salt, being preserved for a long period.

Parking and bathrooms are adapted to people with reduced mobility. During the bathing season, parking is paid and there are restrictions on car circulation, as part of the municipal Car Free Arrábida program.

Although historians are not unanimous about the date of the beginning of the works, the order for the construction of the fortress is pointed to the year 1582, when King Philip II visited Setúbal.

The  São Filipe Fort, more often called fort or fortress, played a tactical role in reinforcing the defense line of the Portuguese coast battered by pirates from northern Europe and Africa.

From the walls of the fort you can see one of the most breathtaking panoramic views of the city and the bay.

The convent was founded in 1542 by Friar Martinho de Santa Maria.
With the extinction of the religious orders in 1834, the convent, the cells and the chapels scattered throughout the hills suffered various plundering and enormous damage caused by abandonment.
In 1863, the Casa de Palmela estate acquired the convent, but construction only began in the 40s and 50s of the following century. Forty years later, in 1990, its then owner, Manuel de Souza Holstein Beck, sold the convent and the surrounding area, totaling 25 hectares, to the Fundação Oriente, the only institution that, in his opinion, provided guarantees of maintaining the values with which, in the 16th century, his ancestors had delivered it to the people of Arrábida.

Convent is open for visits on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays by appointment by phone or e-mail.

Highlights include the chancel, with a painting by Pedro Alexandrino de Carvalho, and the tile panels with polychrome frame, narrating episodes from the life of S. Julião and Santa Vasilissa.

Located on the slope of Serra da Arrábida, the 7th Battery of Outão was the seventh defense redoubt of the Portuguese coast, protecting the mouth of the Sado river and reinforcing the firepower of the 6th and 8th batteries.

It became operational in 1954, consisting of three 152mm Vickers batteries (British made, with a range of about 35 km), the old Old Fort of Outão and the barracks built in the Fort. It ceased operations in 1998 and has not been used since its closure.

King João V himself visited Setúbal in 1711, fulfilling a promise he made to that image when his father was ill. Many devotees came to the chapel, settling in the adjoining inns. It was important as the beginning or terminus of processions, being also where the Way of the Cross ended.

In the chapel, it is worth mentioning the 18th century tiles, an image called Nossa Senhora dos Homens and paintings from the same period as well as the baroque gilded carving. After the 1755 earthquake, the partial reconstruction of the nave affected the upper part of the tile panels.

The building is located on the site where the Teatro Rainha D. Amélia existed, a reference in interior architecture and a landmark in the theatrical history of Setúbal and the country.
The old building was considered by Sousa Bastos, in the Dictionary of Portuguese Theatre, published in 1908, as being "perhaps the most beautiful and elegant show house in Portugal", rivaling, at the time, the homonymous room in Lisbon.
After the completion of a project to renovate the building, the theater, originally opened in 1960, reopened to the public on September 15, 2012 completely modernized and equipped with a panoply of necessary features to make it possible to host events of different artistic styles, as well as initiatives with other characteristics, such as congresses and seminars.
Even with the deep and complex interventions of the redevelopment project, the distinctive architectural design was maintained and remains as one of the city's brand images.

Its main objective is the dissemination and tourist promotion of the region and the distribution of regional products.

It is a multifunctional public space where they are installed:
Setubal City Council's Tourism Division;
Tourist Information Office;
Azeitão cheese and Setúbal muscatel brotherhoods;
Setúbal Bay Association.

The demand for the various spaces of the Casa da Baía, both from the public and from companies or institutions, is high. In the summer months there is a weekly program with musical shows and throughout the year there is an exhibition gallery always active.

The leisure areas inside and outside are favorable for presentations and events of various kinds. On the second floor there is a meeting room and auditorium for meetings, seminars and colloquiums.

Since then, it has registered an estimated number of more than 230 thousand spectators in regular cinema sessions. As of March 2006 Medeia Filmes started to collaborate in the cinematographic programming of this movie theater. In 2011 it was subject to major renovation works.
