In Luke 3:1 he referred to Lysanias being the tetrarch of Abilene in about AD 27, but scholars say that most of his evidence is nonsense. However, an inscription from AD 14 to 37 that was later found actually confirmed that what he said was right. Luke was able to prove critics wrong many times.

McRay pointed out that John 1:5-15 said there were records on how Jesus healed an invalid by the Pool of Bethesda; he provided that it had 5 porticoes. Soon it was found that the place actually existed 40ft below ground with exactly what John described it to be. Other places include the Pool of Siloam, Jacob's Well, the Stone Pavement near the Jaffa Gate, etc.

In 1962, archaeologists reported the discovery of a list in Aramaic describing the 24 "courses" of priests relocated after the Jerusalem temple was destroyed in AD 70. In many dig sites, archaeologists have also discovered first-century tombs in the vicinity of Nazareth concluding that Nazareth was a strongly Jewish settlement. Similar houses were found in a nearby excavation by Yardenna Alexandre. It's evidence that Jesus' childhood was spent in a conservative Jewish community that had little contact with Hellenistic or Roman culture.
