         <description><![CDATA[<div>Jacob hated Germans no matter what. He refused to associate with them even during the truce. Then, one night, a drunk German wandered into his trench. Jacob got very defensive and even reached for his gun. But instead, he decided to fight him. It was a pretty even fight, so Jacob considered him a man and they shook hands. Jacob stated that if the German had whined, he would've killed him.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>During the truce, soldiers retrieved their fallen brothers from No-Man's-Land and properly bury them. They promised not to fight until midnight. They sung to celebrate the holidays. Although many soldiers heard gunshots in the distance, the area that they were in was completely quiet. It was beautiful. There was an officer that hoped that they would do it again on Christmas (spoiler alert: they didn't).</div>]]></description>
