         <description><![CDATA[<div>I was born in a beautiful island called San andres located in Colombia. I move to this country in 2016, 2 years later I started working at Publix as a Cashier. I have beeing working for almost 5 years, and now I am a customer service team leader. I am not only proud of myself because the things I have achivied in life, but also because no matter who, I always treat good and respect the same all people. One of my strengths is empathy, is ability to understand and share feelings of another. What I most love to do is watching romantic movies, listening to music and reading self- improvement books. I am "opacarophile" and if you wonder what is that, is a person who loves watching susents. My bachelor's degree is Bussines Administration, and this is my 3rd year in college. I have many dreams, two of them are to be able to give my parents everything they deserve and at least travel to 60 countries.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Climate Gentrification </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>My attention was drawn to the fact that Miami is experiencing gentrification as a result of sea level rise. Additionally, gentrification in Miami isn't just happening in areas with more elevation. Taxes, housing costs, and rental rates are increasing in coastal communities like Miami Beach, driving out the less fortunate. The average rent in Miami has increased to over $2,800 per month since October 2021, rising 16%. People, the place they live on, and the bonds they may forge with one another are what define a community. And if you look around, you'll notice that a community is becoming more diverse in terms of the demographics that are relocating there. This is due to the fact that land is being taken away from these people, which is also altering their culture and way of life. You remove everything of their possessions. Climate gentrification is bad becase climate change can drive residents out of neighborhoods they would otherwise have stayed in.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>For years in US we have been seeing the enormous impact that plastic have on the oceans. As the matter of fact, many people have created different ways to solve the problem, doing cleans up, or making tooth brushes with old bottle. The thrust is that we are just making to many bottles. What caught really my attention in the video of solving plastic is "we went from producing 2 millón tons in 1950 to 368 in 2019" that is a huge increasing in production that's why now the world is more damaged than before. There is one way that the video mentions that is going to help us a lot and is following the next steps. Reducing the amount of plastic we produce overall, helping everyone even the wildlife, being able to everyone these three things; the planet is going to be more healthy.&nbsp;<br><br><br></div>]]></description>

Not having enough renewable energy resources&nbsp; like solar winds and hydroelectric plants can damage US in the next future years. Electricity goes to power plants, transmissions lines, substations, distributions lines and finally in our homes.&nbsp; The intermittent nature of many renewable power sources is one of the main obstacles to a system powered entirely by renewable energy. The windiest and sunniest locations are not necessarily adjacent to all of the country's major population centers because the wind does not always blow and the sun does not always shine.</div>]]></description>

The way climate change is affected is by the links between gender, social equity, and climate change have historically been difficult for climate scientists, academics, and policymakers to draw. It's time to discuss the uneven affects of climate change and the connections between women's empowerment and effective, global climate action as more data and study show their evident correlation.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>We examine the effects of climate change on women and girls on International Women's Day, the importance of gender equality in addressing climate change, and what you can do to support solutions developed for women, by women.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The reason why I chose Bryan F's padlet is because all his images attract my attention, you can tell he took his time choosing it, they are all colorful and very interesting. What caught my attention and surprised me the most was the organization it has, and how it explains each topic so well, with examples and always citing the sources. All the content is clear and precise, since it is well organized and there is no extra information. The information in the padlet reminds me a bit of mine, the way he explains each topic and the way he put up the photos. Another reason why I chose this paddle tennis was because there is a specific topic that caught my attention and it was "the San Andrés fault" I had already heard this before, but I had never read well about it, nor did I know that it had been so serious. San Andres Fault is a continental right-lateral strike-slip transform fault that extends roughly 1,200 kilometers (750 mi) through California.          <title>Desalination of ocean water</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Desalination is the procedure used to remove salt from seawater so that it can be used for drinking and other purposes on land. There are two primary methods: either boil the water and then remove the salt by catching the steam. Alternately, you could force the water through filters that capture the salt while letting the liquid pass. Freshwater that is clean is essential for maintaining human existence. However, only 1.1 billion individuals worldwide have access to it. Desalination is becoming a more and more common solution to this problem. The procedure of desalinating involves removing salt from salt water in order to make it drinkable. Desalination facilities are now used to treat water that has been contaminated by natural and artificial contaminants, provide drinking water for ships, many arid regions of the world, and other areas. Reverse osmosis technology has reduced the price of distillation so that it is now more affordable than other options.          <description><![CDATA[<pre>Congestion in the city and a lack of metros are the causes. Urban areas in the US were progressively constructed to support vehicle travel rather than rail transport as the national highway system expanded following World War II. Instead of being locations to move within, city centers were places to enter and exit. The assumption that there was "no direct route" was the most frequently cited justification for this statement. The assumption that it would 'take too long' was the most frequent excuse given by individuals who could, at least theoretically, use public transportation to get to work. The economic and social advantages of inexpensive trains or buses are denied to roughly half of Americans, who instead rely on expensive cars. Another reason is because compare to many locations in Western Europe or Japan, the US has a population density that is 1/10th that of India. For it to function, public transportation needs a lot of volume. Urban sprawl: American cities are unnecessarily cumbersome. San Francisco Bay Area, for example, spans more than 100 kilometers from end to end.45% of Americans do not currently have access to public transit. This indicates that over half of Americans rely on vehicles rather than the economical and social advantages of trains or buses. Low-income and marginalized communities, which already experience inequities, are disproportionately impacted.</pre>]]></description>

         <title>Reaction to Energy in the environment course </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Honestly, the first reaction I had from this course was this course can be very complicated, there may be many topics that I had not yet known Since he had never taken a class like this one. I have always had the feeling, I have thought that I want to go to science classes, they can be very difficult since science classes always cost me a bit of work before. One of the expectations that I had about this class before starting it was that they were going to see a lot of work to do, there was also going to be a lot of material to review it. The experience I had in this course has had its ups and downs, since at the beginning of this course I was also afraid that they would accuse it of being very difficult, but as I spent more and more days of the course I realized that when there is a teacher who is doing his part and that he teaches the material, that we need and teaches a way that in activities Then things are much easier, you understand the course much faster and the class interests you much more, if the difference was very different from what which I expected since as he commented I thought it was going to be something more complicated. Always while completing the activities I realized that the way in which the teacher's activities were put was the best since it made us think and reason about what we were talking about. Activities made me change my thinking a bit and how I felt about science since before I looked at science as something boring and annoying and now I see science with different eyes how science does not always have to be so strict and only one answer , but there may be many more others in a different and entertaining way. To conclude, what I learned in this course is that many times they fill us with work, they fill us with things and in reality, that doesn't teach us that much. I can say that this course taught me too many things and that has never opened up a task to be done, they were always activities in the class.</div>]]></description>
