A library is a collection of sources, resources, and services and the facility that houses them and organized for public use and maintained by a government agency, an institution, or a private individual. In the more traditional meaning, a library is a collection of books. It can refer to the collection itself, the structure or chamber in which it is housed, or both. The term "library" has acquired a secondary meaning: "a collection of helpful materials intended for public use." Computer science, mathematics, statistics, electronics, and biology all make use of this sense.
Additionally, publishers might use it to name a series of connected novels. Libraries frequently provide a quiet space for studying.

Thus, modern libraries are rapidly being reimagined as venues where users can obtain unrestricted access to various forms and sources of knowledge. They are expanding services beyond the confines of a physical building by making material available electronically and assisting librarians in navigating and analysing massive volumes of information using a range of digital technologies.

Human achievement in the academic and cultural fields is documented in various scripts and languages on different writing materials found around the world. These records are well preserved in libraries, which mean the "storehouse of such reading material." They are indeed part of humanity's intellectual and cultural heritage, as they transmit to any seeker of information the vast storehouse of knowledge they possess. They are fountains of knowledge that the reader can use for instruction, inspiration, information, or recreation. Today's library image is fully developed, with a collection of materials and modern equipment for the reader, such as a computer, microfilm, and CD Rom. Today, the concept of a paperless library is gaining traction. Libraries are living organisms their fundamental constituents are books, readers, and staff, all of whom grow from time to time in a library that lives up to its mission. As the collection increases, it must be organized methodically to accommodate the increasing number of users; the library system should assist users in locating required papers. The staff should add new and efficient services as they grow.

We should maintain our commitment to keeping these three sources of information. So it can be sources of this generation and the future young generation to keep receiving knowledge and have the basic
knowledge for their own self and the society. It can be seen here, that information agencies
such as museum, library, and archive are the best way for the public
to use in order to preserve information and other stuff. By doing that, knowledge is not
only limited in school or university, moreover, people can also learn outside from there. In Fact, the
knowledge that people can retrieve out there will probably be more than the knowledge that a student can get. This is because they can learn more deeply when they can see themselves.

Introduction IKMZ, Brandenburg University Of Technology

The fact many different people generally use libraries, even though Internet access is not subject to the constraints of time and place, is not generally related to the architecture of library buildings for libraries continue to be indispensable as places of academic study. However, when a library becomes a tourist attraction, its architecture usually does have something to do with this development. Since the building of the ICMC/IKMZ of the Brandenburg Technical University Cottbus was opened in February 2005, has been visited by approximately 20,000 tourists.
The two following aspects probably play a decisive role here: Library buildings, like books, have their destinies. A library's ambience and location influences its architecture, which either follows traditional approaches to library design or represents a conscious to break with traditional paradigms. The former sports ground on which the IKMZ building stands does not, in principle, evoke any historical associations. This, combined with the fact the university town of Cottbus has a relatively young academic tradition, means that little consideration need be paid to the "past". This, in turn, makes it possible to create a future in an open-minded fashion. In other words, the building's functions could be realized without always having to adopt tried and-tested models, and executed as an architectural experiment, paying attention to the requirements of a library building. In this connection, the decisive question is whether the library building has both the components of a central reading room traditionally considered essential and a clearly identifiably stacks; for it is these two parameters that transform a building designed in accordance with traditional criteria into a library.

Founded by Catherine the Great in 1764, the State Hermitage Museum in Russia is one of the largest and oldest museums in the world. Its rich and diverse collection includes Buddhist frescoes, Islamic and Oriental artefacts, Roman and Greek antiquities, Scythian and Greek work in gold, as well as masterpieces of world-class European artists such as Rembrandt, Leonardo da Vinci, Matisse and Rubens. With three million objects displayed in six buildings along the Neva River, the Hermitage Museum occupies an important position among the best-known museums in the world. In 2002, along with the Louvre, Metropolitan Museum of Art, British Museum and other leading institutions from Europe and North America, the Hermitage signed the ‘Declaration on the Importance and Value of Universal Museums’. The Declaration stressed a unique role of these museums as key actors of cultural diplomacy ‘in cultivating a better comprehension of different civilizations and in promoting respect between them. It placed these museums at the center of transnational exchanges and practices of material and intellectual acquisitions associated with objects representing human heritage across time and space. With its world-recognized reputation as a ‘universal’ or global museum, however, the Hermitage is also the most important icon of Russian imperial heritage, national culture and arts. By Decree of the President of the Russian Federation, the State Hermitage Museum was designated part of the National Heritage of the Russian people. It is the only museum in the country that has its own line in the federal budget. The Hermitage receives 83 per cent of its funding directly from the Russian government and not through the Ministry of Culture.

Introduction National Archive Of Pakistan

The archival profession in Pakistan is in its formative stage. Information on archives and archival development in the country is rather obscure. Periodical literature is very limited with the exception of a few journal articles written primarily by visiting experts during the early 1980s, there is very little on the subject for international readers. As a matter of fact, these writings could be termed as neither comprehensive nor current. Their authors, for the most part, depended on their limited personal observations or information conveyed to them by individuals and government functionaries with whom they met in connection with their assignments. Of the indigenous sources, Pakistan Archives, a biannual publication of the Directorate of Archives of the government of Pakistan, deserves special mention. The same Directorate also publishes a newsletter. But these publications are not issued regularly. Moreover, obtaining these publications is a

Herculean task in itself, mainly because of the bureaucracy involved. The Pakistan Library Bulletin, the sole regular journal of its kind, occasionally publishes contributions on archival subjects. There is also a booklet entitled, National Archives of Pakistan (1981), published by the Directorate of Archives. The first and only publication to appear in Urdu, the national language of Pakistan, Tahafuzz Dustavezat wa Kutubkhana (Preservation of Documents and Libraries), by Ashraf Ali, is also a valuable source for its coverage of the development of archives in Pakistan. But it is not well organized; its coverage on certain topics is sketchy and lacks proper documentation. The print media has always been aware of the need to develop archives in the country. For example, the Dawn, a leading English language daily from Pakistan, has included some important editorials on the subject. What follows is an attempt to trace the origin and development of archives in Pakistan, review the activities of the National Archives of Pakistan and other important archival institutions and agencies, and discuss those archival training facilities available in the country. Some of the archival problems of current interest are also discussed, along with suggestions that would improve the archival landscape in Pakistan.

After unsuccessful attempts by the great avant-garde director Vsevolod Meyerhold to revive the theatre, the building was transferred to the State Hermitage Museum and used primarily as a lecture hall and conference hall, a function that is still in place today. However, in recent years it has been increasingly used as a conference hall for various classical music and ballet performances. The musical programme is rich and varied, with several international festivals and the theatre's own orchestra, the St. Petersburg Camerata. The ballet there, with tourists as its main target, performs limited performances of Russian classics to a very high standard in a strictly traditional manner. The theatre is especially worth considering during the summer months, when the Mariinsky Theatre is closed and many top performers can be seen here.

Forming a complex vertical rhythm with the columns soaring upwards, this movement contains numerous statues and vases on the roof. The imposing north façade, giving the impression of an endless colonnade, faces the vast Neva River.
