Herculean task in itself, mainly because of the bureaucracy involved. The Pakistan Library Bulletin, the sole regular journal of its kind, occasionally publishes contributions on archival subjects. There is also a booklet entitled, National Archives of Pakistan (1981), published by the Directorate of Archives. The first and only publication to appear in Urdu, the national language of Pakistan, Tahafuzz Dustavezat wa Kutubkhana (Preservation of Documents and Libraries), by Ashraf Ali, is also a valuable source for its coverage of the development of archives in Pakistan. But it is not well organized; its coverage on certain topics is sketchy and lacks proper documentation. The print media has always been aware of the need to develop archives in the country. For example, the Dawn, a leading English language daily from Pakistan, has included some important editorials on the subject. What follows is an attempt to trace the origin and development of archives in Pakistan, review the activities of the National Archives of Pakistan and other important archival institutions and agencies, and discuss those archival training facilities available in the country. Some of the archival problems of current interest are also discussed, along with suggestions that would improve the archival landscape in Pakistan.

responsible for assembling, cataloguing, preserving and managing valuable collections of historical information. Archivists work with a wide variety of public and private sector organizations, and, once qualified, may move between a variety of organizations, roles and specializations.

Records managers are responsible for accurately, securely and effectively managing information received and produced by a wide range of public and private sector organizations.

Public Record Wing, also known as Public Collection Wing, manage the acquisition, preservation and review of public record activities.

Private Collections Wing is responsible for acquisition of private collections having national or historical significance.

Technical Wing is responsible to provide technical support to other departments. Technical Wing is subdivided into 3 sections.

The masterpieces of Leonardo da Vinci, Rafael, Ticiano, Rembrandt, Rubens, Matisse and Picasso are located in the State Hermitage. The world’s finest Holland baroque collection, 19th and 20th century French paintings, a collection of Western European decorative art, a unique Gold of the Scythes exhibition, and ancient Greek jewelery are also organized at the museum.

The heart of the collection, including the Hermitage's famous masterpieces of Western European art, is undoubtedly a major tourist attraction, attracting some 2.5 million visitors a year. 

The imposing, crescent-shaped Empire-style building that crosses Palace Square directly from the Hermitage is now part of the Hermitage's permanent collection, which houses Impressionist and Post-Impressionist art, including masterpieces by Van Gogh and Matisse.

Peter the Great's original Hermitage was long thought to have been destroyed, with archaeologists excavating parts of it under the stage of the Hermitage Theatre in the 1980s. The room that was left has now been restored.

Visiting this incredible collection can be a daunting experience, especially if tourists don't plan to book a guided tour. With 350 exhibition halls, the museum welcomes more than 2.5 million visitors a year, and the crowds are unusual. It's worth planning ahead to make the most of a visit to the Hermitage. To help visitors, the director has divided up the Hermitage guide, covering each section of the exhibition separately and detailing the highlights of each section. One ticket covers all the collections of the Hermitage complex, with the exception of the Treasure Gallery, which can only be entered as part of a guided tour. Video and camera photography inside the museum must be purchased separately. Tickets can also be booked over the internet, which is more expensive but helps avoid queues, which can be a problem for tourists during the peak summer tourist season.

Managers play an important role in ensuring that employees carry out their duties responsibly so that visitors feel comfortable visiting the museum.

The assistant manager should assist the manager in matters of museum management so that all activities to be carried out run smoothly without any problems.

The tour guide takes visitors to see the museum and tell them about the history and things inside the museum.

The building is also decorated with statues and bas-reliefs depicting famous artists, architects and sculptors of the past. Classical, Renaissance and Baroque ornaments enliven the massive surfaces of the building's façade. The building has no order-indicating elements such as columns or pilasters, but its structure is entirely determined by the proportions of the classical order. The lower part of the building, large and rustic, is balanced by the lighter upper part. The decorative scheme of the facade is based on a rhythmic combination of horizontal divisions and vertical window apertures. 

Late Baroque and early Neoclassical elements were successfully combined to create the building. The decorative pattern of the building follows the canon of Neoclassicalism, while also reflecting the strict proportions of this style, referring to the architectural structure of the Hermitage. The rhythm of the Corinthian columns on the second floor of the pavilion emphasizes the architectural unity of the two buildings of very different styles. The south and north buildings are connected to the galleries on both sides by sky gardens (raised to the first floor). The entire complex was named the Little Hermitage in honor of Catherine II's purpose of hosting an entertainment evening in the North Pavilion, which she called the "Small Hermitage". 

All facades are decorated with two-story colonnades. Forming a complex vertical rhythm with the columns soaring upwards, this movement contains numerous statues and vases on the roof. A large number of moulded decorations – peculiar cornices and lintels, macarons, circular ornaments, rocalls and various pediments – create an extremely rich range of light and shadow effects that add a flamboyant colour to the building’s exterior.

Based on an identical architectural theme, Rastrelli gave each of the palace's four facades a different structural rhythm. The south façade, overlooking the square, has a formal grandeur. Here, the architects pierced the building with three arches to create a grand entrance into the courtyard and accentuate it with vertical elements of paired columns. The imposing north façade, giving the impression of an endless colonnade, faces the vast Neva River. The west façade opposite the Admiralty is reminiscent of the combination of a country palace and a small courtyard. The massive east façade with its massive wing forms a large plaza of honor, turning towards Millionnaya Street, where the aristocratic mansions are located.
