"Many people are afraid of the procedure. Some people even resist. But, I'm not afraid. I can't wait."

This quote is saying that Lena can't wait to be 'cured' of the love disease. This tells us that she doesn't want to find love

just to get hurt. The evaluators will chose her husband for her and shes okay with that. She just wants to follow the rules.

now unpeeled, in both hands, as though it's a glass ball...'You know, the others would be nicer

to you if you would speak once in a while' (Oliver 7). This quote shows that Lena cares for

Grace and wants her to have friends. This tells us that she believes in Grace even though

no one else does, and loves her.

This quote shows how afraid society has made Lena of the disease (of love) She would rather be cured and never hurt the disease than to ever love.
