The base line test for literacy provides us with a reading age for your young person and can identify areas where they may need further support. Any pupil with a reading age below 9 years is offered the opportunity to attend intervention sessions to aid them in making progress with .literacy skills. The skills we focus on include phonics, fluency, comprehension, inference. This is an online test. The data gather from these tests is used to identify pupils who need some support with their numeracy skills. It is a safe and staffed place for pupils to be with peers, eat lunch, play games and chat with the Learning Support team.


There are PS4's and Wii's to play on, there are also board games, colouring activities available. There are comfy sofa's and a quiet reading area.


We have a 'No Tech Tuesday' to encourage interaction, communication and making new friends.
