Although most of the Latinos coming into the United States have come here legally, most Hispanics are treated differently than the general population.

On the southern California border, immigrants from Mexico have decided to try and jump over the wall in migrants so that it would be harder for the law enforcers to stop them. A lot of these immigrants try to come into the US to live a better life then they were living in Mexico or to be with their families.

If an illegal immigrant were to be caught in the United States, they could be subject to deportation back to where they came from.

The reason as to why families are being separated is because when the families are put in the detention centers, the children are put in a different place than the parents.

This has caused an outrage for everyone from Mexican-Americans to US citizens who believe that this is unjust treatment. It was reported to CNN that a Honduran mother's child had been forcibly taken away  while breastfeeding.

Many people disagree with this type of action and have taken it to their own by protesting at the border. This is perfectly legal as it is protected by the first amendment.
