The national movement supported the idea that all adults have the right to vote because at the time when india was under the rule of British ,an Indian didn't had the right to make their own decisions. And in the struggle for independence people from all walks of life without the discrimination of religion  gender ,castes , age participated . Everyone united for an independent country where people would be eligible to make decision for their well being. So our independent country is based on the factor of equality which is the principle of democracy.
