There are many layers to consider in the development of a curriculum. The federal government is able to ascertain proven research methods that help guide appropriate curriculum for the country. The general guidelines should be fairly similar while allowing for creative changes that meet the needs of individual students. For instance, students from a lower socioeconomic status will have different interests and experiences than those of a higher socioeconomic status. Honest feedback from students and parents help educators determine what is lacking in the current school environment and what can be changed.
