I listen to it everyday. While I'm in the car on my way to school or work, or while I'm at home relaxing, or when I'm out with friends having fun. The music that affects me the most are the songs that create an emotional response within me. I love it when a song makes me feel both happy and sad at the same time. Though they might seem like conflicting emotions, I have learned over time that they are very connected as you can't have one without the other. Overall music provides an emotional escape for me at times. It can improve my mood, or decrease it. It can make me excited or depressed. I like a lot of somber music. Does that mean I'm a sad person? I'd like to think I'm not, at least not the majority of the time. I do think that a person's cultural cohorts effect their music tastes to some extent though. For example, I am a studio artist and so I have a great appreciation for the more artsy and inventive music out there. I also love movies and so songs that have been in a film that I love will most likely be big hits with me. However, there are other factors of my cultural cohorts that don't relate to my music taste. I am southern yet country music is not something I actively listen to. However, on the other hand, I probably like country more than people from the north do.
