ANIMALS IN DANGER A PANDA Pandas are big bears with white and black fur. They eat bamboo leaves and they live in forests. They can climb on trees and they can swim very well. They avoid people. Pandas are threatened by deforestation and lack of bamboos.

The tiger

The tiger is the third bigger carnivorous in the world. It finds its food using its eyes and its ears and it can eat 40 kilos meat. It can swim very well and fast. It has black, orange and white stripes on its fur. People hunt it all over the world.

Caretta caretta lives in the Atlantic Pacific and Indian Ocean and in the Mediterranean sea. Its shell is red and brown. It lives about 100 years. It is about one metre long and weighs about a hundred kilos. It is omnivorus. In Greece it lays its eggs on beaches in Zakynthos, Peloponnessus and Crete.Only one out of a thousand baby sea turtles survives. We must protect the beaches where caretta caretta lays its eggs!

I like carakal. The carakal is a medium - size beautiful wild cat. Its coat is uniformly reddish tan or sandy. It lives in Africa and Asia. Carakal eats small animals, birds and pets.Caracal disappears due to habitat loss due to agricultural expansion and people kill caracal to protect livestock.

The Rhinoceros

THE RED DEER The red deer lives almost all Europe (Italy,Northen Makedonia, Bulgaria, Asia and Africa). In Greece it lives in Rodopi and Parnitha,there are few animals in Epirus. Its body is long and narrow, his neck is long, his legs are tall and strong, its color is reddish-brown and in summer it turns gray-brown. Only males have horns.They weigh from 160 to 240Kg depending on the area where they live, the horns are 71cm to 115cm long.It eats shoot,leafy,leaves from shrubs,fruits and mushrooms. There are about 1000 animals in Greece, 590 live in Parnitha. The dangers for these animals are hunting,fires and animals brought from other places infected. Panda is black and white. It lives in the China forests. They eat bamboo and it weighs 125 kilos. They can climb on trees. Some dangers for pandas are hunters and destroyed forests. We can do many things to helpt his animal. We have to protect forests and keep them clean. Also, we must not hunt pandas.

The students of the fourth grade joined the online English course in Webex on May 4th 2020 and discussed the following video relevant to the Unit of their Coursebbok.  Then they posted their article on an endangered animal on this wall. Their work is also posted on the following link  for their participation in "Παγκόσμια Ημέρα Περιβάλλοντος 2020" "Η ώρα της Φύσης... στο Σχολείο" organised by the Envoronmental Center of Kalamata Messinia (ΚΠΕ Καλαμάτας Μεσσηνίας)
