Author: David Walliams Main Characters A boy name Ben, his parents, the granny(who smells of cabbage and likes them that she can marry it)and the Queen. What happens? There is an eleven year old boy named Ben who hated his granny, but had to go to her place every Friday evening because his parents went to see a TV show called Strictly Stars Dancing. One day, he went to his granny's house again and wanted some biscuits for breakfast since he didn't like his granny's. He knew granny had a secret stash of chocolate biscuits that she kept on the shelf in the kitchen, so without her looking, he slid a chair as quick as he could over to the cupboard and stood up on it to reach the biscuits. He managed to lift it up, it was a big silver Jubilee tin, but it was heavier than usual, but that's when he shakes it. He knew there were no biscuits in it. He unscrewed the lid and he couldn't believe what he saw. Diamonds! Rings, bracelets, necklaces, earrings, all with sparkling diamonds! He wanted to go again, but his granny was unexpectedly going out, but Ben wanted to learn more about the jewellery in the biscuit tin. He thought how she could get these. He found out by following her to a jewellery shop. She told him that she was an international jewel thief. She told stories about her adventures and how she wants to steal the Crown Jewels. He had a plan to help the old lady to steal the Crown Jewels. A few days later, they rode on granny's mobile scooter together to London and managed to reach there with no trouble. When they were about to steal the Crown Jewels, they saw the Queen. They were scared at first, but everything went well. They went home happily. That's what Ben thought when granny told him she had cancer and would not be able to like till Christmas. They met her one last time, and she was gone. Her funeral was on Christmas Eve. On a Friday, Ben rode to her bungalow one last time and hoped he would see her, but no since she was dead. The Christmas news appeared the next day and the Queen was on it, talking about Ben and his granny, but didn't mention the name. Out of no where, she lifted up her skirt. Ben's parents spat out their tea all over, but Ben smiled. What did I think about it: I like this story because it's funny and it shows pictures for the sentences that really and needs one and shows a moral value. Ratings:10/10 From: Jasia(4 Cheng Ho)
