Malaria is caused by parasitic protozoans of the genus Plasmodium, which belong to the sporozoan subclass Coccidia. Plasmodium is found all throughout the world, particularly in tropical and temperate regions, and infects the red blood cells of mammals (including humans), birds, and reptiles. The female Anopheles mosquito bite is how the organism is spread. Animals may also contract malaria from other insects and certain mites.

Female mosquitoes spread Plasmodium, which, like other human infections, first multiplies in liver cells before entering the bloodstream and continuing its asexual proliferation within red blood cells. Depending on the species, 48–72 hours are needed for RBC formation.

The mattresses should be covered with mosquito netting. All of your windows and doors should have screens installed. Clothing, mosquito nets, tents, sleeping bags, and other items can all be treated with the insect repellent permethrin.

Primaquine is a drug used to prevent or cure malaria, a parasite-caused illness. Primaquine functions by preventing parasites from growing within the body. Malaria-causing parasites usually enter the body through a mosquito bite. In regions like Africa, South America, and Southern Asia, malaria is prevalent. In vivax malaria, parasites enter the body through the bloodstream and spread to various cells and tissues. Relapse, or a second infection, may result from this.
