Setting: In LA

Characters:

Clara Shin: main character, outgoing, loud, troublemaker

Rose Carver: Clara's enemy, uptight type of person

Patrick and Felix: Clara's friends, also troublemakers

Adrian: Clara's dad, Korean-Brazilian, has a food truck, called the KoBra.

Juliana: Clara's mom, mostly absent in her life, influences, always traveling.

Hamlet: main love interest, funny, gentleman.

Clara made a bad joke on prom day, and she and Rose got into a fight (since they don't get along) and almost destroyed the school cafeteria. Now, both of them have to work on the Kobra to paid the damages, and maybe they can get along, and Clara might find love.

One conflict that is starting to appear is when Adrian makes Clara work in the KoBra, and Clara wanted to go to Tulum for summer but now she can't for a problem in the school, and after Adrian get mad with Clara, and she is really disappointed, she took the rush decision of going to Tulum without telling her dad. This conflict is shaping the story by showing that Clara mostly run away from her problems and she don't like to face them, so now that her dad is mad at her, she took the decision of going to Tulum (as if to run away of the problem with her dad) and go with her mom where everything is more "easy".

Motivation:

The main character is acting this way because after the fight she had with her dad, she felt disappointed, something that she really has never fully felt. Clara felt how it is to be disappointed when you did something for someone that you really care about, but they don't have the reaction you expected, and that overwhelmed her.

Character development:

The main character is beginning to change because she starts living other things. She was always getting in trouble with her two friends, whom mostly don't take anything seriously, but then she start hanging out with Rose, since they work in the KoBra, and she realize that Rose is not as bad as she thought she was. Then Clara meets Hamlet, and she notices how different Rose and Hamlet are from Patrick and Felix, and how they take seriously everything they do. I can tell because she starts hanging out with them more than Patrick and Felix, and she also starts to question how she feels about the friendship she had with them and how the relationship with Hamlet and Rose feels more complete.

Choices:

A big choice the character faces is going to LA after going to Tulum. She realized that with her mom she could escape from her problems and have fun, but that's it, it was just fun. She realized that back with her dad, everything was more real, and that in LA is where her home is, with her dad.

Supporting characters:

Two secondary characters that are important right now are Rose and Hamlet. They influence the story by showing Clara other things. Rose shows her what it is like to be under pressure, and why she is always so uptight, Clara get to know more than what is in the surface, what it is like to have someone at your side, like a best friend. Hamlet shows her what sincere love feels like, and things that in her other relationships she has never felt.

Predictions:

I predict that Clara is going to say "I love you" back to Hamlet soon. Clues is the history that supports my prediction is when Clara say, "When he let go, I felt a lurch in my chest that told me Clara Time was going to catch up to Hamlet Time real fast"

-It changes the way I saw winter because I naturally see winter as a cold but cozy season, but here in the book, winter is really cold and it represents one of the difficulties for the protagonist.

-In the book, red makes me think of danger, because Emi face a lot of things that have to do with red, like book and wounds, and in the book they are present.

I do wear some colors that are on my color wheel, I wear black and dark blue and they do look pretty good. The colors that best suits me are Deep Winter, it has dark and vivid colors.
