         <title>Self/Introduction Reflection</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Hi, my name is Samantha. I was born and raised in Florida and have spent the majority of my life growing up in North Miami Beach with my family. My parents, on the other hand, are from Haiti born and raised. In hopes to find a better life my parents moved here and had me. Fast forward, I am currently in my last semester for my AA in Accounting at MDC. I plan on transferring for the fall semester for my bachelor's in Finance- however I am still undecided. I have dreams of owning my own business and entering the real estate world. When I'm not busy with school, work, and daydreaming about the future, I am dancing, singing, and occupied at church. My relationship with God has always been my first priority and something I valued and take pride. So serving in my church as Youth Leader is one of my major priorities. I aspire that one day that the Youth in my church can have some sort of impact as leaders in this world in whatever field they take upon. One fun fact about me is that I played violin and viola for over 15 years. I got accepted into New World School of the arts for it and spent my high school career there. I was pretty good at playing music but since college, I've taken a break from it and I plan to start again soon.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The session with Professor Dunque was very informative and helpful. I learned a lot about the resources that were available via the MDC website for me to use. For example, one of the tools that I did not know about that stood out to me was the "chat with a librarian" using the quick links. This is so useful because if I need something I can communicate with someone and be provided information about what I'm looking for. Another tool that stood out to me was the MDC library and the many resources available. For instance, professor Dunque only typed Miami and hundreds of thousands of resources were made available. What made it even better, is that when you click on any of the resources in the MDC library, there are a multitude of ways you can access the information and even cite it to avoid plagiarism. I am torn between two topics Nutrition and climate control and how they are an issue in Miami. I'd like to develop on Nutrition so that I can share how we play a factor in obesity and the different health issues in our city. How do the processed food and junk we eat affect our bodies? What is the process our bodies go through as we consume various types of food? What are some ways that could be beneficial to me especially to avoid health problems threw eating? On the other hand, if I choose to develop on climate in Miami I will want to share how it has been an issue over the past few years. Like how have our seasons been affected by shift in Miami’s climate and the future risk and possibility that may prevail if we don't find a solution to this climate madness.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong><br>How does the processed food Miamians eat affect their bodies?</strong></div><div><br></div><div>I choose this topic because it is not only important in our community but also important to me. Being that processed foods are cheaper, it is easier for people to eat more fast food than whole meals. We have also witnessed numerous individuals lose their lives due to their eating lifestyle/ habits. Growing up, I used to eat a lot of processed food. It wasn't until my eating habits took a toll on my health that I took my eating lifestyle seriously. I started off by reading the ingredients on labels and researching the effects affect of them.
