Instead of using your fists, use your words.Did you know that words are more powerful than violence? It is possible for nonviolent direct action to transform a community? If you said yes,you are correct. For example Greensboro sit ins are when people wanted the rules to change. In the book freedom on the menu, four boys sat at the lunch counter for hours because they wanted african americans to be treated equaly. After the four boys sat at the lunch counter more people were doing sit ins and all
this shows that they were sucsesful using nonviolence to solve a problem. All in all,it is possible for nonviolent direct action to trasform a community.

I firmly believe that nonviolent direct action can change a community because the greens burro four sat at a lunch counter that they weren't supposed to sit at.So days after that people made something that,s called a sit in. Oh MANY people did it. And I,m talking about the south! so months after that they finally got served. by the way the sit ins lasted 7 months the sit ins were nonviolent and martin Luther king Jr came and told his speech and taught us about six steps that lead to nonviolence. So then everybody got what they deserved. in conclusion doctor Martin Luther King Jr changed the whole community with words and not fists.

According to the text "freedom on the menu"four men just sat down and made a difference. This is important because if this did't happen then people may have not done picketing and we may have been segregated .In conclusion all of this very important to not use violence.

According to the passage "freedom on the menu" it says people what freedom to go were they want to go started the sit ins. There are six easy steps to nonviolent action that can make a big impact with out fists. In conclusion it is possible for nonviolent action to change a community

Its possible to solve a problem with using nonviolence direct action to change a community by using the six steps of nonviolence direct action with those steps you can make a point when you follow those six basic steps and once you finish flowing the steps then you will have a impact on your community. The sit-ins had a big impact on their community it all started with four teenagers who were tired of the unfair law and they just sat for four hours just to make a point then other people started to do it after the Greens borrow group people got arrested for doing it the people who got arrested stayed in jail when their families tried to get them out of jail but they said no so they could make a point. So the unfair law would stop. People flooded the streets holding up signs that might of said get rid of the unfair law there were other people who just sat in front of restaurants that either didn't serve them or ones that treated them poorly. So the restaurants will treat them fairly and will serve them and the restaurants knew they wouldn't stop same with stores so they had to do something cause that they were loosing money. So they had to let them go to stores that they couldn't go to and have restaurants treat them fairly and go to restaurants the water fountains said which person can not drink out of what water fountain and what movie theater you can or can not go to. So they still had to boycott and do sit-ins so they will change the unfair law and after many days of hard work they finally changed the unfair law.

Have you ever felt like something is unfair? Probably not as badly as African Americans did back in segregation times. But some people stood up by doing speeches, marches, and performances. Also some people stood up by sitting down. Is it possible for nonviolent direct action too change a community. It already has in the past. According to the passage freedom on the menu about 75 years ago segregation was not illegal. The people took advantage of that. But one day a group of brothers sat on the seats of a store. The seats were for whites only that rule was about to change. The next day protesters covered downtown wanting equal rights. Even kids started helping protesters some got arrested tho. What I'm saying is that if you are going have a fight don't use fist or weapons use words. So now you can solve any problem without fist but with you words.

According to the text " Freedom on the Menu", the sister stands up for her community by going to jail because she sat at the counter when she wasn't supposed to. They told her that she could get out of jail but she didn't want to because she wanted to make a point. That point was that everybody should have equal rights and have it without violence. This shows that people can not be segregated because this is what will happen. As you can see, nonviolent direc t action can transform a community.

Well, African American people aren't allowed to do sit at the lunch counter or do anything white people do. It was not fair for colored people. But wait! These men known as the Greensboro for all they did is sit down and changed EVERYTHING! Yes everything! Connie and her brother are educating people for freedom. But something went wrong, Connie's sister got arrested for silly laws that aren't fair! Well, about that lunch counter, when Connie's father heard "their serving them!" he stopped the car they went in at saw that colored people were sitting at the lunch counter! Did you know that colored and white can shop BUT colored people can't sit at the lunch counter! That's unfair on ANY level!! If I was in that time, I would stand up for my community. If you were in that time, what would you do for your community?

BAM! Your sibling has just taken away your toy! Isn't that annoying? Well, if you think that is unfair, then you should travel back to the 1950's. That was when it was WAY to unfair! Segregation was legal. That means that two different races were separated, AND it was legal! Now, talk about unfair. Thankfully, a wonderful person named Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. ended that fiasco. But anyways, it wasn't just him that ended it! Rosa Parks, Ruby Bridges, and all the other people fighting for the right. But, that's a different story. Today, I'm gonna tell you about the Greensboro Sit ins and the four people who started it. Here's the story...
One day, four college students walked into a market, with a little lunch counter. African Americans were not allowed to sit there. These people were African Americans. Something crazy happened! They sat down, and just acted normal like any other person going to get lunch. The waitress said she couldn't serve their kind. But that was going to change. Days later, SO many other people joined this sit in! EVEN people from all over the south....WOW! It may seem like the Greensboro Four were being rude and mean. But I didn't say that they were hurting or using mean language to the waitors, waitresses, and the people around them. In fact, they were simply sitting down on the seats, doing nothing. Can I get a 'WOOP WOOP" for them? Like I said anyways, they were not doing anything involved in hurting others. They were using what is called Nonviolent Direct Action. Really, tricking the opposition by using your wits, not your fists! Imagine you were in this situation. What would you do? Now do you have second thoughts about being violent or mean? Well, you should!

January 18, 2018 | 8:34 A.M

Did you know that by using nonviolent direct action you can change the outcome of a problem? By using nonviolent direct action you can change the outcome of a problem because when you are using nonviolent direct action it is easier to solve problems rather than using your fists or violence. In the 1950's segregation was legal, and African Americans didn't think that was fair and guess what they were right! It wasn't fair that white people were treated better than African Americans. White people weren't any better than African American's, so there was no point in separating them. Am I right? There was no reason to have signs every where that would say Whites Only or No Negroes Allowed. Can I just say that that doesn't seem right. According to the passage, Six Steps for Nonviolent Direct Action." You should use your words to handle things not your fists. Just like the Greensboro sit - ins wait let me guess you don't know who or what the Greensboro sit - ins are well the Greensboro sit -ins are a group of four college men who also didn't think segregation was fair so they took a stand but not with fists or violence they used nonviolent direct action by just sitting where only white people were allowed that's all they did they just sat. soon after that they changed the law now white people and African Americans were no longer separated. African Americans could sit where ever they wanted on a bus without having to give up their seats, there were no longer separate water fountains for African Americans and White people, and There were no more signs separating African Americans and White people. I hope that this brought my point across to you that it wasn't fair to segregate Black's and White's.

Have you ever thought that someone was being unfair to you? Probably not as unfair as the 1950's. African Americans and white people were segregated. They couldn't use the same counters, water fountains, or even bathrooms! There were other things that they were separated from too! Thankfully, we had people like Martin Luther King Jr, Rosa Parks, and the four men who let people know that the Greensboro sit-ins were a protest for African Americans. Man am I glad for that! Without those people who led African Americans I wouldn't know all the people I would today. One nonviolent direct action can change everything. When the four Greensboro men were just sitting, they got their whole community to start doing sit-ins. It took them seven months to get managers to start letting African Americans sit at the same counters. Just by sitting!!! That completely blew my mind. That showed me that by doing a nonviolent direct action can transform, or change a community in a big way. You just have to use your words, not your fists.

I firmly believe that nonviolence is an easy way to get rid of a problem. Do you? It is possible for a nonviolent direct action to transform a community because when a group of people come together there are an infinite amount of things they can do. According to the video ,the sister wanted to stay in jail because she believed that she could make a difference to the people. She did. Later those months, the people that she talked to made a difference and everyone no matter there race, could sit at the lunch table. The video also says that, the brother and sister did sit-ins and made signs that said segregation was wrong. And they did this all peacefully in a nonviolence way. This information is important because when put in a situation like this it could be hard to not cause harm to your opponent especially if your opponent caused harm to you. But if you rise up to the occasion everyone's problems will be solved. Take the Greensboro brothers for instance it was a win win when the problem was solved. They turned into a community! All in all, Its 100% possible for a nonviolent and peaceful direct action to bloom a community. "When you treat others with kindness the good in you shines bright."-M.L.K JR

Fist.Guns.Water.All things we shouldn't use to solve problem. Instead use..... WORDS. Have you ever heard the phrase '' Words are more powerful than a sharpened sword", probably because you have had to of heard of Dr.Martin Luther King Jr.... Yes! I firmly believe that nonviolent direct action can transform a community. Then have you heard of the Greensboro sit in's. No! Good.Well, there four African American freshman, yes freshmen who went to a snack bar that was segregated they just sat there. They weren't doing anything wrong just sitting there at the snack bar. Later about 100 people joined the sit ins. A sit in is where people sit at a place until they get equal rights and get what they want. This shows nonviolent direct action. They didn't do any thing to harm anyone all they were doing was sitting. Nonviolent direct action can transform a community . In conclusion a nonviolent direct action movement can transform a community. If you lived in that time would you a apart of the sit ins or even marches?

Did you Know Its possible that Nonviolence problem can be fixed easily by being just kind? According to the video ''Freedom on the Menu'' It shows that Connie and her mom were told that they had to stand if they were going to get a snack. White people won't let African Americans sit at the lunch counter THAT'S JUST CRAZY!!!!!!! White people SHOULD let them. Later on Connie's Daddy said that Dr.Martin Luther King Jr.Is coming tomorrow then when Connie said Who's Sick? When daddy said not that kind of doctor. Its a person who works as a minster said Connie's dad so then we can go and get whatever we want. WOW!!!! NOW THAT'S AWESOME NOW IF I WAS IN THAT PLACE IT WOULD BE COOL!!!!!!!!!! Anyways back to what I was saying you know you shouldn't let ONLY white people sit down THAT'S JUST WRONG!!!!! and also kinda sad just like how Julein Felt when he finally realizes for what he did to auggie cause Its doesn't really matter If you are different or not what's most IMPORTANT is LOVE and caring for each other and I think that's how the white people felt when didn't let Africans Americans sit down on the lunch counter.

Did you know that you can change the whole community by just doing one thing?Well it is possible!!Back when Martin Luther King was alive there was rules that separated African Americans from white people. Also there was these four brothers that went to a restaurant and sat at and did a sit in.This means that that those four college students changed the whole community by doing one thing helped the African Americans start to get freedom.Back then white people made BIG trouble for African Americans. They couldn't even use the same water! They had to use the old broken things! The four brothers almost got arrested. But the cop was to afraid to arrest them.I can't believe that one direct action made the community much better. And they did not use violence to solve the problem. This shows that you can transform a community using a nonvoilent direct action.

Is it possible for nonviolent direct action to transform a community?

I firmly believe that it is possible for nonviolent direct action to transform a community because those four African american men sat at the diner where white people were supposed to sit and those men didn't use their fists they just sat their patiently waiting to be served but the server didn't serve them because they were not aloud to be sitting at that diner the server asked them to get up but the four men refused to get up. According to the video, the four men tried to make the community a better place just by sitting at that diner. You may be thinking what do you mean? how could just sitting make the community a better place? Well it makes it a better place because if those four men are sitting at the diner where would the white people sit? Also the restaurant would not get enough money because if the African Americans were siting at the diner and their was no more room the white people would just leave and the people who worked at the diner would not get paid. They could also run out of business. Unfortunately, if they keep keeping this up they could get arrested. And that's not all they DID get arrested and they didn't do basically anything wrong they didn't even use their fists they used their words. As you can see, You can most differently use your words to help your community. Remember use words not your fists. What would you do to help you community?

I do believe that it is possible for nonviolent direct action to transform a community. I think this because the text says that the Greensboro brothers did sit-ins which does not include violence its just sitting waiting for them to be fair and serve them this spread all over the south and so many people were joining sit-ins and marches and maid pick it signs.the text also says that the sister wanted to participate in holding up pi git signs even though she was in jail saying jail not bail! jail not bail! they were not using there fists to fight for there rights which doesn't make sense for them to be in jail. After her family found out she was in jail they tried to get her out but she didn't want them to why do you think she didn't want to get out of jail? I think she didn't want to get out of jail because she didn't want leave without proving a point that segregation wasn't fair. After a couple days the sister got let out of jail. One day the mom dad and little girl were driving past a restaurant and they heard someone shout there serving them! the dad slammed on the breaks and they went inside the restaurant and saw the manager serving the people from the sit-ins.this shows how unfair it was back then and how African Americans fought peacefully for there rights.
