Description:
This video is that of a news channel covering the experiences of two priests and their dealings with exorcisms. They describe the fact that the increase in exorcisms is due to the decrease in religion in the world, the different exorcisms they've performed, including cases where the possessed where suspended in air, and the of success their exorcisms.

Connection:
This video connects to appeal to authority, "A Current Affair" is an Australian news channel. People tend to trust the news and given the lack of evidence, it's concerning they would cover this topic with as if proven. Unexplained is a reason for belief that, ironically, was stated by one of the exorcist, he says that the go to exorcists when they don't know what's happening with them. Ideological support will be a common reason for belief in most of these posts, exorcists are rooted in religion and in this video the exorcist even claims the reason for the increase in possession is because of lack of faith. The video relies heavily on emotion as a reason for belief, not so much in why they believe but why we should, showing distressing clips of those possessed and families speaking of their experiences with possession. There are many flaws in this video, as far as I could find online there are no exorcists sectioned by the Vatican, nor could I find proof of the two incidents cited in the video.

Description:
This is a short video where a man describes his take on exorcisms. He claims to have exorcised over six-thousand demons and has been known to conduct public exorcisms.

Connection:
This video is connected to mostly ideological support and an emotional reason for belief, more than half of this video is focused on images of possession and exorcisms being preformed. The scenes are heart wrenching as the individuals on stage seem to be in real distress. The flaw in this however is that none of the exorcists claims can be verified, his claims of the over six-thousand exorcisms he's preformed cannot be proven.

Description:
This video goes more in-depth about the history and presents a more skeptical view of exorcisms. They point out the possible mental health implications of exorcisms as well as the fact that the catholic church seems to avoid the stating that demons are independent beings.

Connection:
This video connects to the critical thinking process and uses a reasonable amount of skepticism, there are multiple specialists brought in, siting their credentials and there is both those who believe in exorcisms and those who don't, with both sides represented. One of their main points is the fact that the reason most believe in exorcisms or demonic possession is for fear of the unknown, there is something intriguing about the possibility that there is some unknown force out there. This ties in with ideological support, with the many religions that had exorcisms and the belief that they may "cure" someone of a demon.

1. The thing that surprised me most is the fact that many of the articles at are pro exorcisms openly admit the fact that the people seeking help for possession have a history of either; abuse, addiction, or mental disorders. It seems odd to openly admit that exorcisms are often preformed on vulnerable people who may not be in the right state of mind.

2. I've always had an inkling that exorcisms had a connection with mental health/disorders, given the overlap in behaviors. As someone with a mental disorder, though not as extreme, I've done research into other disorders and the negative assumptions that are attached. Disorders such as BPD, which can cause drastic fluctuation in emotion would explain instances where possessed individuals "mood seemed to change drastically". The idea that these individuals are being exploited, especially considering the amount of uploaded video's and public showings of exorcisms is troubling to me.

3. I found post number four, a video most interesting as it contradicts a lot of the other statements made by pro exorcists. The post seemed much more reliable than the others but contradicts the claims of many of the other videos and websites. They talked about the fact that exorcisms are very rare, contradicting the supposed six-thousand the exorcist from post three claims to have done. They mention the fact that the catholic church tries to stay away from claiming the individuality of demons, strange considering the exorcist from post one claims to be sanctioned by the Vatican.

4. I think I'll most likely remember the very obvious exploitation of the mentally ill and the frustration I have, especially when it comes to public exorcisms.

5. I believe the belief that vaccines are harmful is the most harmful, not only is it ableist but is directly causes death, especially children. The least harmful, in my opinion is those associated witch witchcraft, such as tarot cards and crystals. There have been many studies on witchcraft and how they often help minorities, especially women, escape some of the more oppressive aspects of the church without loosing their spirituality.

6. The main peace of knowledge I would pass on is the the fact that there's always new information coming out about all sorts of topics, echo chambers may be comfortable but it means you're never truly thinking for yourself.
