During the summer I went with my friends to a holiday House. According to the website, it was a quiet and relaxing place with the beach a few meters away so, without thinking it twice , we decided to stay there. We all knew that this was going to be the best summer of our lives. The place was difficult to find since it was far off the beaten track in a desert place, not just exactly as it has been pictured in the website. Even though,  but we decided to continue. Once we had been installed everything was perfect, we were having a great time. The night was calm and there was  a  spectacular full moon. When I looked at the clock it was 12 o'clock. Suddenly I had a bad feeling, out of nowhere, we all began to see ghostly shadows and hear sounds coming from beyond.  Feeling terribly frightened we started running around the house and little by little everyone started to disappear,  leaving behind the echo of  the last sounds of their screams ...until there was only me left. Anxiously I ran until I couldn't anymore and through the window at the top I jumped into  a void. After that, nobody ever knew what happened to us.

On Saturday night, since they had decided to dress up as Mexicans,  Alfredo lent  Johan and authentic, lovely and perfect fitted out Mexican hat that he had bought in Mexico when he had been  on holiday the year before.

Alfredo reminded Johan  he had to be very careful with his hat. Next, they went to have fun at the best carnival in the world. They were drinking and dancing in the streets crowded all night until they got drunk.

As soon as Marcos and Johan came back on Sunday at noon, Johan asked  Alfredo for his forgiveness a  thousand times since  he had lost the hat. However,  Alfredo was  so very annoyed. ¡ He could not believe it!

After a few days, Alfredo met his friend Pedro. Pedro said to him, 'you know, during  carnivals I saw a foreign tourist sleeping drunk in the crowded Spain square, and I swiped a stunning and gorgeous   Mexican hat. I have it in my house'. Alfredo asked him to show it to him after having explained what had happened. 

It was incredible, it  was indeed his hat! It was so funny they cracked up . Pedro gave the hat back to its owner. Even if it happened a long time ago, it's a story I haven't forgotten.

 For this reason, I would like to write about some data on this court.

The court is in Luxembourg. There are 24 official languages. To ensure that all citizens have equal access to justice, any one of the 24 official languages of the European Union can be used as the language of the case.

Communication in the various languages used at the hearing is made possible by simultaneous interpretation. There are five hundred and fifty-two language combinations.

More than 2000 nationals of the 28 members states, all EU citizens, work at the Court.
One thousand three hundred and thirty-five women. 60 percent of all workers are women. Eight hundred and seventy-nine men. 40 percent of all workers are men.

Of the two thousand workers, nine hundred and eighty-five are for language services. 45 percent of all workers: nine hundred and eleven translations and seventy-four interpretations.

The difference between interpreting and translation is only the difference in the medium: the interpreter translates orally, while a translator interprets written text.

Approximately 1,160,000 (one million one hundred and sixty thousand) pages are translated each year.

The library holds approximately 240 000 volumes relating to European Union Law. In total, the Library holds over 10 km of books.
The Court of Justice of the European Union ensures that, in the interpretation and application of the treaties, the law is observed.

 Cases are heard in open court, before the judges and Advocate General who may put questions to the parties.
Subjects of cases:
- Taxation 

- Intellectual property (trademarks, copyright) 

- Asylum and immigration 

- Data protection: data transfers to outside the EU; right to be forgotten

- Discrimination in the workplace on the grounds of: age; sexual orientation; handicap; religion .

The current building was made by the architect Dominique Perrault. The central chamber of judgments is spectacular. Worth a visit.More than 32,000 judgments and orders have been delivered since 1952.

Last but not least, the budget: 399 million Euros in 2017.
