For the last 5 years I really do not think that anyone went a single day without using their mobile phones, laptops or the Internet. You might have also noticed that mobile phones are being handed to children as from the age of 6 months instead of traditional games such as dolls, lego and clay. However, children are not the ones to be blamed, the parents are the real culprit. It is an undeniable fact that we are now living in a materialistic world where parents hardly find time for their wards, so in order to replace the affection they should have been giving to them they end up handing them latest gadgets. Parents somehow think that when doing so children will stop complain that they are not taking enough time for them. Children of the actual era have become completely dependent on technology. Parents should be conscious that the use of technology only is not going to help in increasing the knowledge of the kids and that creativity is an important factor contributing to this process as well. Thus, as planned the event is going to bring both parents and children closer to each other. Parents will be helping their younger ones in creating paintings or clay works as well as strengthening their bonds. Moreover, several types of communities and parents will get to participate together giving rise to participatory culture. Younger ones will also get to learn how to engage with multi-cultural people.

So basically I was in charge to promote and  attract as much as people possible to the event. My role as an event manager is firstly to make this project a success.  Finding a convenient location was not that tough.  I had to negotiate to have best prices with suppliers to provide the invitee with glue, papers, scissors amongst others accessories.  Certainly, I had to arrange for music system for a lively atmosphere...

Following several consultation with all members of our team, we ultimately decided to opt for the event entitled ‘A day without technology’. This topic has always been bothering me, bearing in mind that most of our youngsters nowadays are being associated to the technological world on a daily basis being any type of social network related platform accessible on a variety of devices. 
 
 Moreover, my role as a graphic designer was to focus on the advertising campaign for the above mentioned event. My main responsibility was to promote the said event by coming up with eye catching flyers, posters, typography amongst others. The flyers will consist of the name of the event, the date and time, as well as its venue. Likewise for the posters, it is going to be fixed on billboard or bus stop.
 
 Concerning the layout of the flyers and posters, they should be designed in such a way to be more appealing, attractive and user friendly. A composition of drawings and using different types of typography should be made on these flyers and posters to make people aware of how the event is going to happen.
